If you can afford it, and you don't mind that it doesn't have any new features, only a redesign, then you should give it a shot.

That makes little sense. If you take aesthetics out of the picture and say design is only part of how it works, then a redesign is essentially a different new feature, because it works different. Design is both, function and looks.

There is no clip-on light that I've seen that works as well as a front light. I've had Sony's light covers and while they worked, they didn't work as well as a front light.

Most of those images have clever placement of cover/shadows that to an extent minimise the wider side. I think it's very telling that the promo shots are done that way. Only in the first one do you really see properly how much wider one side is

If Kobo was lighting from the long side of the screen as opposed to the bottom then 6 might not be enough for them to get the lighting right either, hard to say. We also don't know the specs of the LED's used in either case, plus 10 sounds better to the marketing dept.

Just like any PC software is just a repackaging of all other PC software because it use that same old x86 instruction set.

We need sales figures to know how well the Oasis is selling. Amazon dominates the market but which of their eink devices dominates sales.

We need figures to compare sales within their product line. Is the Oasis a hit? Compared to what? How many units did they have on hand upon initial release? How does that compare to other first day releases?, etc, etc.
