I'm getting deja vu myself, hearing all the "it's not worth it" comments.

I still haven't got a Voyage because I still deem it not quite worth the price tag. I only got the PW3 to replace my PW2 back in November because they were reduced around Black Friday and I wanted the increased resolution and storage.

It's not a question of money as such, I could afford the Voyage, or even the Oasis (if I didn't find it so fugly) but I'm just not prepared to spend that amount on an ereader

Do you have a link to where he says that there are two charging points?

I've found a video by Len Edgerly, which does not mention that, but it does have some more footage of the Oasis, and more chance to see how it handles and what it looks like.

This video has a shot of the processor and the battery -- a take apart, if you will.

You know ... just looking at these videos some more .... I bet some third party vendor will come up with something to charge the case by itself. Somebody elsewhere mentioned that the 5 point magnetic click connection is becoming a standard, of sorts. So I can envision a third party charger that connects to the case's magnet dots, to charge up the case, while I'm reading on the naked Oasis.

As for Page Turn buttons, this CNet video shows the Oasis being rotated and the bottom button used on both sides for page turning. The device "... automatically rotates the screen and page turn buttons to match what hand you have the device in ..."

I think eventually we'll see all sorts of third party cases (though most without batteries) just like there's third party origami-style folding case for the Paperwhite, for example.

Several of these videos talk about the weight being shifted so that it now feels like a book with a spine. They seem to assume that people always bend their paperbacks around the back of the spine!!! I don't lend books to anybody I see doing that! I open my paperbacks at a 90 degree angle ... well, sometimes a little bit further .... and rarely allow any marks on the spine. They usually look unread when I'm done.

Okay, back to Oasis talk. I still think somebody will invent an external case-charger.

Len says that battery life is 2 weeks for the Oasis, 7 weeks for the case and 9 weeks total.

I think Amazon is catering to the voracious readers.
Voracious readers are a smaller market, but that market can be a very profitable one.

The same screen technology, smaller battery, smaller screen, and they want $300 for a plastic lump on one side? No thanks.

Give me a luxuious 6-7" color e-ink screen, lots of memory, bump the processor, and open format support, and I might consider $300. I'll keep yelling my constant cry: Innovate! Innovate! Innovate!

One would think so, but there is no mention of a rotation lock in the manual currently. Guessing this will be a screamed about oversight that will get corrected in the 1st update.
