Murchie's Balmoral Blend Tea is a strong, traditional, rich blend of bright Ceylon and malty Assam teas. Full-bodied with a brisk aftertaste: perfect for a royal palace in the Scottish Highlands.
Murchie's Balmoral Blend Tea was originally blended for York House School – a private school for girls which has been an institution in Vancouver for over 75 years.
This blend is also a nod to Murchie's Scottish roots, as Balmoral Castle is the Queen’s official residence (palace) in Scotland, where John Murchie would deliver teas to Queen Victoria, before he came to Canada and founded Murchie’s in 1894.
Recommended for traditional tea lovers, fans of Irish Breakfast, English Breakfast, Scottish Breakfast and Assam Pure looking for a different mix of teas or tea drinkers looking for a strong black blend with some briskness but not as much as pure Ceylon.

Strength:     Very Strong Tea
Brew Temperature:   205 to 212°F, or 96 to 100°C 
Brew Time:   3 to 5 Minutes 
Brew Quantity:   1 tsp to 6-8oz or 5g to 177-237ml of water

This is a strong breakfast style tea that's a blend of Ceylon and Assam teas. Would handle milk with no issues, but I really quite liked it without. Brewed at 205F for 3 minutes, it made a tea with a dark red liquor, strong Assam nose, and a bright Ceylon astringency in the mouth. Very nice way to wake up. Recommended.

After a morning of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend coffee, I'm settling down with a large pot of Murchie's #22 Blend. This is a smooth, dark, "Earl Grey" kind of tea, but with a definite sweetness to it. Well worth a try if you like the bergamot in Earl Grey but want a smoother, more floral cup. I doubt it will end up on my go-to list, since I'm not a huge fan of bergamot, but it's a good fit for an afternoon tea.

Murchie's No. 22 Blend Tea is similar to our beloved No. 10 Blend, but richer and more full-bodied due to a stronger Ceylon base
A long-time fan favourite, this is a superb blend of green Gunpowder and Jasmine, as well as Keemun and Ceylon black teas.

I haven't ordered any, but I thought of you when I saw this very limited edition Pu Erh from Peet's: Sheng Pu 'er. I've mostly given up hope on their teas since they basically handed off the business to Mighty Leaf, but this is from their old days and has been aging for years. I'm almost tempted, even though my tastes haven't usually run to Pu Ehrs.

About to brew a pot of Margaret's Hope First Flush Darjeeling. It's actually quite a good fit with my Japanese bento box lunch. (And as we both know, I'm more of a China Green than Japanese Green tea drinker. This takes me completely outside that dichotomy. )

Teavana has a pretty good Korean Green. I think it is called Jeju. It was a new one for me and it tastes pretty good. Not close to a Japanese Green but far better then most of the Chinese Greens that I have tried.
