Hello Denise. I own both a Kindle and a Sony PRS-505, which are the two most popular readers in the USA. They are both great devices and either one of them would make an excellent investment. If you have a smart phone such as a blackberry, you can put reading software on it and get a start on reading electronic books while you investigate which reader you might purchase. Even though I have the two readers, I still read books on my Blackberry. I refer to it as "stealth reading" because I can slip in a chapter without anyone being aware that I'm looking at a book. They just think I'm anxious to keep up with my e-mail or text messages!

Damn Elsi, I thought I was the only one who did that. I slip in chapters on my iPhone

Denise, Elsi's right about smartphones. In fact, I'll occasionally load the same book on both my iPhone and my Sony. That way, I've always got one at hand.
