That is Microsoft's (two byte) idea of the National Standard character set (which is not unicode, its row&column of the unicode, code block).

Perhaps you can find a tool that will re-code that document into something other than Chinese Windows coding.

I save the webpages in .txt format instead of .htm. Problem solved, librerator show Chinese correctly. thanks for the help!

I am new to this forum. I wonder if anyone can help me with this query. I have installed and have been using Liberator for quite a while now. And very useful it is too. However, I find that I am unable to highlight text in epub or mobi, though I can do so for PDF files. Is there a way to highlight text in epub or mobi? Am I missing something here?

No.
This is the reader for keyboard devices.

As the title says, this is based on a very early version of KOreader.

How to navigate to a chapter of ToC quickly through a keystroke like KPV (see picture attached). It's very useful on Kindle DXG. Hope to hear from your help.

Look at modifying the associations that KPVbooklet stores in the mime database.
"Stock" they just do a regular "open the book" but it looks like there isn't any real limit to the action(s) you can assign.

That does not do an assignment to a key.
It assigns an action taken when the book is selected.

Normally, it opens the book to the current reading position, and you want it to open to the TOC.

I am not sure if KPVbooklet supports keyboard devices.

Removed Q-P etc. shortcuts in lists (Table of Contents, Highlights, Bookmarks, Menu), because I like more space for the actual entry better. However, if you absolutely cannot live without them, you can put them back setting DKPV_STYLE_LISTS to true in defaults.lua.

In lists (Table of Contents, Highlights, Bookmarks) and FileChooser you can now use Shift-Up/Shift-Down to move 5 items up or down. Using shift will not move to the next/previous page of the list, so it can be used to quickly get to the last/first item. The number of items to move up/down is configurable through defaults.lua, DSM_SHIFT_UP_DOWN for lists, and DFC_SHIFT_UP_DOWN for FileChooser. Also, pressing up/down (without Shift) will not change page anymore - pressing up on first item will go to the last item on the same page and vice versa. Use page turn buttons to change page. The user can also change default fonts and sizes for lists by editing corresponding options in defaults.lua.

Hi!

I was advised to come here and ask my question.

When I read with my Kindle Keyboard and put the text-cursor in front of a word, I'd like to be directed, right away, to the full definition dictionary page without passing by the incomplete three lines definition that appears to the top or to the button of the screen.

My e-reader : Kindle Keyboard (version: 2.4.2) not modified at all.
My knowledge : A tiny bit of easy HTML/PHP.
I'm willing to install things or modify files.

We can do nothing if your using the reader that Amazon provides with your Kindle.
Ask Amazon.

You where directed here because we had to guess that you where using one of this forum's book reader applications.
For your device, that would be this one.

I said few times that I'm willing to install things, modify or something to reach my goal. If it is possible to change my device e-reader for something else, that is the kind of the information I'm looking for. That's why I'm here. Where do you see that I just want to use my device e-reader (because you keep repeating this)?

If I understand you well, there is a "e-reader" that I could install on my Kindle physical device that might be a way to reach my goal, and that in this thread there are people that can help me?

In that case, ask Amazon.
We have no way to make those type of changes to the Amazon application.
