Would it be possible to have the "Author Name Variants" functionality support regular expressions, and/or specify a different field to use to get the author used for searching? I like to label non-author people who end up in the Author field with some sort of tag in brackets (e.g. "Adams, John Joseph [editor]"), but I now realize that almost none of those are getting matched correctly in Overdrive searches. Specifying a variant name in the plugin for each of those (e.g. "Adams, John Joseph [editor] & Adams, John Joseph") would be a huge pain, but if we could do a regex substitution to apply to each author before the search (e.g. "s/ \[.*\]//"), that would be much easier. Alternatively, if we could specify a different source field to use then I could create a saved bulk edit that populates that field with the "stripped" author, and just run that bulk edit before each time that I ran an Overdrive lookup.

Hmm... looks like I have two libraries to which the plugin can no longer auth after the update to support new formats: nwdlc.libraryreserve.com (branch 113) and denver.libraryreserve.com.

I could easily have the plugin ignore anything in brackets at the end of an author name. This would be less work for me than any of the other workarounds you suggested. I doubt this change would break things for anyone else.

Is the bracketed information always at the end of the name?
Would that be sufficient to solve the problem for you?

My mistake. I made an assumption that no library host names end with "libraryreserve.com". I will fix the plugin to handle these libraries properly. I plan to make a new release in a few days.

Ignore any suffix contained in square brackets following an author name in the user's calibre library. (eg: John Smith [editor])

Thanks again for such an awesome plugin. I was wondering if the library group support could be extended to include the "Unlink selected books" menu option, so that there was also a "Unlink selected books from library group" option as well? Not a huge deal if it would be a lot of work.

It appears that if you search for a book using a library group, and the "unlink books if no longer found by search" option is checked, then links to all libraries not in the group being searched in are removed, rather than ones for just the libraries in the group.

I have not been able to duplicate this problem, however I am testing with with a version of the plugin that is different from the released version. I will put out a new release later today.

If you still see this occurring after the next update I will need more details in order to duplicate and diagnose the problem.

Version 1.40.0 - 03 May 2016

Allow the overdrive_link_library_groups tweak to also be used for unlinking books from libraries.

Allow a double colon ('::') to mark an optional prefix for book titles.

Show Scribd books that require an account credit as having a one week wait when checking current availability.

Fix errors when searching Scribd resulting from a website change. (Server response error (missing "div class=page_header"))

Ignore empty book flag at Scribd instead of producing a warning. (Fixes Unknown book flag)

Fix error when an Amazon search finds a book with no title. (IndexError (list index out of range))
