If Liquavista isn't as good as LCD displays I doubt I would be happy reading on it. I have the new 9.7 iPad pro with a gorgeous screen, but I prefer my Voyage for reading and it's hard for me to imagine changes that would vastly improve the reading experience. I would however prefer buttons without haptic feedback and TTS would be nice. A charging case that would add any significant weight or size to the device would not appeal to me. The clarity and contrast of the Voyage are great but I'm always up for any improvement in that department or darker fonts. I'm anxious to see what next week brings.

And that quality comparison is why Samsung sold it.

I would of thought the ereader market shrinking and amazons dominance in the space as being the main reason for selling it to Amazon,Samsung obviously didn't buy the tech for it to replace their amoled displays.

Samsung didn't buy it for ereaders; they bought Liquavista at a time when everyone still thought smartphones/tablets would have to sacrifice quality for battery life.

That turned out to be a mistake as LCD and OLED screen tech improved.

Pretty straight line and fully documented causality chain.

Price fixing favors the large entrenched players and that is exactly what Agency did. Under Agency Amazon rebounded from 54% of a small but growing market to 67% of a much bigger market. It stayed thereabouts until Agency part Deux and now it is growing again.

With enemies like those they hardly need friends.
And yet a recent industry insider report states Amazon wants to keep agency pricing.

So you mean Amazon also didn't aquire them to integrate into ereaders? If so maybe the tech could end up in their fire range and not kindles?

I would of thought Samsungs original goal was to develop and sell the displays to 3rd party ereader makers but seeing as many sold up and most notably Sony quitting the market they probably thought it wasn't worth the time and effort to take it forward and with only Amazon selling worthwhile numbers it was just easier to cash in and sell them on.

If you have any references stating they wanted to plan to move their mobile products to liquavista that would be interesting to see.

These cases have been dismissed by Judge Denise Cote.

The australian company making the Diesel claims was dropped but the last I heard BoB's claim was still active. When were they dismissed?

It looks like around January 22 of this year. They are appealing it to the 2nd Circuit.

Added: The article answers the question why it took so long for these retailers to add the Big 5/6 publisher's books. The retailers were using wholesalers and not working directly with the publishers.

Does this source work for Amazon?
Was this source an Amazon employee at the time of agency?
If the answer is NO, then the guy is doing propaganda.
If the answer is yes,
What was the source's exact job?

Agreeing with Nate.
As per outright lying, I would say no. I would say he is saying what he wants people to believe is the truth.
Sorry but I need more than a blog post. Oh yeah, mention Amazon visits and revenue to the blog go up.
Not an impartial source but will benefit from whatever he says about Amazon.
