I would not have seen this if it were only on the "deals" page.

The Voyage doesn't show a discount for me, although there is a banner over the page saying $50 off on Voyage. I put it in my cart and it still showed as $199.99. I'm a prime member. Anyone else see this? Guess I'll wait and see what they announce next week about the new top of the line kindle.

Same thing happened to me, but when I went ahead and checked out [figuring I'd contact customer service and get it straightened out] and put in my payment information, confirmed address and stuff, it came up with the $50. off. I just ordered one today and now I'll wait and see if I regret not waiting for the announcement. But I figure that anything new coming out could be out of my price range considering this one on sale is just barely in it

Just a note for those considering the Kindle Voyage, Amazon is planning to announce a replacement for it next week.

Amazon does that with these types of discounts. The price discount doesn't show in the cart, it only shows at the checkout page. You can see the discount taken off before you commit to the purchase, just not in the cart.

Heads up. Kindle now on sale for prime members. $50 off on voyage, $30 off on paper white and basic.

Be aware that a new top of the line kindle will be announced next week. That's probably the reason for the sale..

AnemicOak is correct.

The Forum Admins have always made the call that any and all deals should be posted in the deals subforum and not in a device-specific subforum. It doesn't really matter why -- although I would point out that there is no "things mlewis78 is interested in" subforum, and members are expected to peruse the threads in any subforum that they expect might hold interesting posts. I myself try to at least look at all the New Thread titles just in case (except for specific subforums I have NO interest in, like the non-English ones).

As this thread was originally posted in the Amazon Kindle subforum (where I have moderation privileges) I took the liberty of moving the thread... but if I hadn't Dr. Drib or someone else would have.

Them's the rules -- I don't make 'em.
