Have you checked your public library to see if they have ebooks that you are interested in? I get the vast majority of my reading material from the library.

It's not easier if stores in the US don't carry Kobo gift cards. It seems to me that you're making your own life much more difficult by self imposed limitations. Don't want/can't get a credit card. Don't want to pay fees for a pre-paid credit card. Only want the fee free Kobo gift card. You know what they say, life's a B and then you die. Rather than running around trying to find the elusive, often non-existent in the US Kobo gift card & wasting time, gas costs & effort why not pay $4.95 and be done with it. Happy Kobo shopping. Happy life & happy reading but no, you'd rather stand firm that you want the gift card because it's "easier". Makes no sense to me. If that still makes no sense to you, have a friend or family member with a credit card BUY you a Kobo gift card online for you to use on your Kobo account and give them the cash. OR drive to Canada hit just about any store: Shoppers Drug Mart, Chapters/Indigo, Best Buy, Walmart & buy the card yourself with the higher value US dollar and save a few bucks in the process. Check with Kobo first to make sure a Canadian bought card will work with a US Kobo account. Other than that, I think you're pretty much S.O.L. Last edited by Shopaholic; 04-04-2016 at 03:31 PM. |

If it's "super easy to get a gift card" then why are you asking where to get them? Because you can't find them therefore, it's not super easy to get a gift card.
Get someone with a credit card to buy you a Kobo eGift card. You get get up to $100. Anyone can buy them from the Kobo site. They don't have to have a Kobo account. Again, other than that, you have no other option because of your self-imposed limitations. |

Back from checking. Here is a reloadable card and the fees. https://www.netspend.com/how_it_work...it_costs.shtml This one might or might not be worth it. Also note, it can be used anywhere. If you want to convert and sideload, you can buy through just about anywhere. Google play and Amazon gift cards are plentiful. Last edited by Cinisajoy; 04-04-2016 at 05:26 PM. |

You can use Google Play. Now to even get free books there, you will need to go to your nearest Family Dollar, Home Depot, Walmart or pretty much anywhere that sells gift cards. They start as low as $10.

You can get free epubs here, project Gutenberg and some at Smashwords, no gift card needed. If you don't mind older and indie books.
Just download to your computer and send to your kobo. |

I'm referring to Kobo's site & gift cards not anybody or anything else. And no, not all ePub is DRM free. I daresay most are not. You seemed to be complaining about not being able to find Kobo gift cards to buy books on Kobo with. If that's not what you were asking, then please try to make yourself more clear because that seemed to be the crux of your complaint: not finding Kobo gift cards to use on Kobo to buy books. |

The first post says nothing about DRM free books...most books on the Kobo site are definitely NOT DRM free, so why would anyone assume that you were looking for DRM free books based on the first post?
