Thanks.
There are millions of addresses in the US. 1409 Main Street is a very popular address.

Since you aren't getting anything physically delivered, make one up.

However, you may need a VPN, if they screen IP addresses.

I've been reading a sample of "Encounter at Farpoint." This stuff is bad.

"The first time Captain Jean-Luc Picard saw the Enterprise...."
"The third time Captain Jean-Luc Picard saw the Enterprise...."
"The seventh time Captain Jean-Luc Picard saw the Enterprise...."

(I kid you not.)

"The first time that Jean-Luc Picard walked the corridors of the Enterprise...."
"The first time Captain Jean-Luc Picard stepped onto the bridge of the starship Enterprise..."
"JEAN-LUC PICARD quickly stopped counting how many times he stepped onto the bridge of the Enterprise."

(WTF...)

And this first book in the TNG series costs like €15. Fat chance.

Thanks. I tried it out and had mixed results. I initially used my former US address, and I was able to place an order. I then tried to place a second order and it failed, saying that there was a problem with my account. I then connected to a US VPN and was able to place a second order. As long as this method continues to work, I'll probably continue to purchase books from them in the future.

However, one thing to note. The Star Trek books are only being offered in ePub format. I was hoping for PDF. Yeah, I know I can convert it--and I probably will--but it would be nice if it was offered as a choice like O'Reilly, APress, Manning, Packt and other publishers that I typically buy from.

They'll certainly be DRM-free at Amazon, but obviously in Amazon's formats. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone actually wanting PDF format before. It's really not a terribly good choice of format for ebooks.

As far as I know none of the big fiction publishers, including S&S/Pocket, offer their books in PDF anymore & haven't for some time (as in years).

The quality of the writing/stories varies with the author. There are some good books.

The early books were written before the series even aired. But yeah, that's bad...

Star Trek novels do not come in PDF. You could try Kobo.

Note, incorrect. You can get Star Trek eBooks from Amazon. I don't know about DRM at Amazon.

Some of the early TNG books are just bad. Some of the episodes in season 1 & season 2 are bad as well.

Why in the name of the flying spaghetti monster would you want a book containing only running text as a PDF? The one thing I could think of is because it would be easy/easier to print, but that's the one thing you wouldn't want to do with an e-book I guess...

I understand. While I utterly despise most of Ed Greenwood's writing in the Forgotten Realms, I buy his books just to have the series complete (as much as is possible, in e-book format).

The stuff I quoted a few posts back is found in just the first 10 pages or so of the first chapter of the first book. I have NEVER EVER encountered writing so bad, not even in Ed Greenwood's novels.

I'm no world-class author, but I'm sure I even I can write better than that, if only by copying what the 'good' authors are doing.

Maybe if you have one of those large e-ink tablets that can only read PDF?

I never heard of one; all of the ones I know can at least read ePUB as well. Which ones can only read PDF?
