I have an H2O and I've never had any of these problems. I'm on the 3.19.5763 version firmware.

The problem i have is two different problems.
1, is that whatever file i try to open pdf/txt/epub/kepub/mobi and a couple of others the first time i "open" the file it opens to a blank page and only shows the title nothing else.
And after that i can do nothing have tried clicking/tapping everywhere and waited for minutes absolutely nothing happens.
If i press the powerbutton and set the kobo to sleep and wake it up again i can tap and gets the menu and can go back to library/etc and then i can open the same file again and it works fine (BUT only the same file).

And by fine i mean it works like it should and it works just as fast as on fw 3.18 to flip pages zoom/etc.
But if i close it and try ANY other file its a blank screen with title again and a sleep/wakeup makes that file work fine and no other files (including the one i tried before) works without sleep/wakeup.

It is the same for free books from kobo and imported files from calibre and i could put them on internal (with or whitout a sd card plugged in) or sd card (tried two sd card) with no difference at all webbrowser and games i did not even try.

I've never seen any of these issues on my H2O. I also make sure that all ePub I put on my H2O has been validated with epubcheck and they all pass no problem before going on my H2O. Maybe some of the eBooks you've put on has errors that are causing problems.

Have been reading for a couple of hours in the last 3 days after this and 3.18 works as it used to so i have a hard time believing it could be a hardware issue.
If it where a hardware issue some problem would probably have shown up by now right?
So anyone have any thoughts on what the h*?

My suggestion is to stay with 3.18.0 and wait for the next version firmware.

Where can I get 'epubcheck' for my Glo, please? I think I've recently damaged my device database, perhaps due to some corrupt books, and I do not want to happen this again.

Could be a book, but are you properly ejecting your device each time before disconnecting it from your computer? That's the 1st culprit to eliminate when running into corrupted databases with a Kobo.

Yes! I suppose that was the reason exactly! I accidentally pulled out my kobo once or twice without properly ejecting, and corrupted the database. Fortunately I don't have much of the books on it. So logging out of Kobo account and again logging in did the trick.

I use EPUB-Checker. It's epubcheck 4.0.1 wrapped in a GUI so you just drap/drop your ePub and get the any error messages in the GUI window for easy referral to for fixing. It's available for Windows, OS X, and Linux.

YW. I've used this since epubcheck 4.0 and it works very well. Just a simple drag/drop and I get all the output in a neat little GUI.

I discovered a problem while reading this book synced from Kobo to my Glo (fw 3.19.5761), but I've attached a test book that exhibits the same problem

The book contains a blank page, a html file that contains no printable content. Once it reaches the blank page it gets stuck and I cant turn to the next page, although I can still turn back to the previous page. The only way to get past it seems to be to use the table of contents to skip to the next chapter.

The ePub reader is fine, the problem only seems to affect the KePub reader.

Nope. Which likely means one of two things: the firmware is nearing "maturity" and they have slowed development to reduce costs, or they are working on a new device (speculation strictly based on the fact that new firmwares in past have paused or slowed when they were working on a new device).

The firmware is nowhere near "maturity".

A third possibility is that Kobo has shrunken their development team.

There's also always the chance that the firmware update isn't ready. We had two almost on top of each other. There are companies with devices that go a year or so between firmware updates. When I switched to Kobo I was actually very surprised at how often firmware updates were pushed out.
