I think the OP is asking if there's a way of telling if an item is a fake. Perhaps something bought on eBay?

Probably, but if it fits the kindle would it be considered fake?
Perhaps, the OP is asking if there is a way to tell if a case is a knockoff.
Oh and I have no idea because my cases were all third party buys on Amazon.
