Of course, you can take a look here: https://github.com/koreader/koreader
You can compare version you have with current master. On the other hand, this isn't necessary easy thing to do, which change did what you don't want done. But, you need to know that when you start reading book settings are kept in directory with book's name. So, you can compare and try to find which setting is that that turns hyphenation off. |

["hyph_alg"] = "@none", It should be correct, but when opening the book the hyphenation continues set to English. So changing hyphenation with this method is useless. And anyway, I would prefer to do that from the config menu of Koreader as before. |

The fonts that Nickel firmware contains are encrypted. They only can be used by the Nickel software.
The only way to use legally the Malabar in KoReader is to buy a not encrypted version of the font. And fonts are very expensive. But there are tons of very good free fonts. |

If you find the recent Github issue where hyphenation gets set based on the language of the ebook, the "merge" post will have links to where the scripting of the files is spelled out.
Koreader uses several font types but .ttf fonts into the "freefont" folder, is the easiest way to do it. (My favorite is Stone Serif Regular.ttf) Luck; Ken P.S.; If I were going to buy a font it would have to be something like this $25 font. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 02-18-2016 at 09:14 AM. |

I everybody,
It makes a while now that I use Koreader on my Kobo Glo, and I'm rather happy with it. Although, I have a few questions and remarks about it, but I'm not sure it's there I must ask... so, in doubt I begin here by the way. Don't hesitate to redirect me to the proper place/site/forum/bug tracker !!
Thanks for any help ! |

@sioc about
1) yes. Read the thread of KSM. 2) Yes, you could try to help debugging that issue. Because it only happens irregularly, it is hard to fix. It bugs me, too! 3) Tap the top line of your reader: that is toggle frontlight on in KSM. I think you could also configure KSM to enable frontlight by default. At least, I think that it used to bother me that it was on in KSM without me wanting it. 4) Actually, the fast workflow is exiting koreader and do whatever you want in KSM and returning to koreader. *** 5)I don't know what changed, but nowadays I go a week before having to recharge it, while reading for hours each day. I kind of forgot about this hardship. EDIT: ***Nowadays I have removed the internal SDcard for a 64GB one. I can leave USB enabled without bad effects and run koreader. So I can just plug it into my PC. Copy the files and access them through koreader without ever leaving. This doesn't work if your library is on your external SDcard, of course. After experimenting it appears this actually generates an error when opening such an epub-file. I'll look into it and try to fix it: It would be really nice to have that working. Assuming that you are using a recent version of KSM, there should be a "Configure" selection on KSM's main menu. Selecting that and then "[general]" then "add item", should give you a list that includes "ksmAutoselectafter=20" and a "ksmAutoselectoption=start_koreader".
I haven't experienced a loss of dictionaries after suspend, you might check the "issues" for the project at Github. With KSM7 the "front light on" option is at the top of the screen. Doesn't the Glo have a button, like on the Aura HD, to toggle the frontlight? (Not sure about the Glo HD, but you have "Device: Kobo Glo") You can Wirelessly add files within KOReader, but not with the USB cable. The KSM USB works well, for me. Battery duration is a tangle of user expectations, hardware/battery chemistry, questionable monitoring circuits, and actual performance. I just charge it whenever I notice it around 60%, that is at least five or six days, most likely a week between charging. Luck; Ken |

Thanks for your answers !
I'll look at the KSM configuration for auto start. I've just read issue 1234 on GitHub, maybe I will try to help by enabling log as explained. As far as I remember, the device's backlight button don't work when in KSM. I must check that. KSM USB mode is fine indeed, but I think about "mainstream" users. My wife has a Kobo Glo too, but finds that KSM is a bit too involved or geeky for her. So my questions (dict issue, auto start and USB mode from within KOReader) are about trying to avoid KSM completely. About battery, I've collected daily statistics since a month and a half. All I can say for now, is that the battery lifetime is no more what it was when I bought the brand new device ![]() |

You can add a "ksmAutoselectafter=0", to the options list. With KSM7 you would add it to the General section of; ".adds/kbmenu/confoptions/ksm_ini_options.txt" , I would suggest using Notepad++ to make the addition, it formats the page in a much more readable way. You should still "return" to KSM when you exit KOReader. (With KOReader set to open in the current book, you would have a pretty quick return from Poweroff.) I tried "ksmAutoselectafter=0"
Works like a charm ! With the open current book option, that's just the perfect combo ! Many thanks. I may even try to power off instead of suspend each time now. |

Last two nighlties seem to screw up the touch interface on Aura H2O. After the first start of Koreader, things seem okay, but once waken up after sleep, the only thing it responds to is the hardware button. Back to Feb-27 and it's good again. Any ideas?
