Thanks, everyone. I do appreciate it.
Finishing up the night with a glass of faux San Pellegrino, and a 1/2 glass of fresh squeezed orange juice to take my pills. |

Today, after an actual night of some sleep, if not as much as I'd like, I think a cup of your basic Murchie's English Breakfast Blend tea is on order. Goes well with what is a very English looking morning outside.

I limit my caffeine to the morning, so any afternoon tea is decaf. I've found a few that I don't mind, but even the best ones I've found taste dull and muted compared to the real thing.

Why I'm now drinking more and more of my faux San Pellegrino. All it takes is a SodaStream and an 1/8 teaspoon of "Burton Water Salts". Works a charm. (And yes, I understand too much caffeine too late in the day. But I can usually get away with mid-afternoon, as long as it's a tea without huge amounts of caffeine, such as a Keemun, an Oolong, or one of the First Flush Darjeelings. Today, in fact, was Martha's Hope First Flush Darjeeling with a couple of Hobnobs for my afternoon tea break. And then Talisker this evening.

I finished a cannister of very good Pu-erh tea from the local Asian market yesterday. Today I opened up some Taylors English Breakfast leaf tea. The first steeping is a bit astringent and bitter, even after some buckwheat honey, but the second and third steepings are much better. I can live with it.

Well, except for about an inch in the bottom of my bottle. I do admit to finishing off the evening last night with some. But tonight is a pure wine night. At the risk of a massive headach, I'm having some Ridge Geyserville (very old vine Zinfandel field blend).
