Just to throw something else out there. You don't say if you're using your isp's email service, some free service or something else. Some isp's, etc., have spam filtering on their end that may prevent emails their software deems are spam from ever reaching your account. Don't know if that's what's happening here or not, just another possible angle to check.

AnemicOak,

Thanks for the pointer. I'm using an ISP, and that was actually one of the first things I checked. The origionally did hold back some stuff and I had to log on through the web portal to see what was held back. I've changed that setting and everything is delivered now. The stuff that is suspected as spam is dumped into a SPAM folder, and I've been checking it ever since. I also created a rule using the email address that was provided in an earlier post so that anything coming from that email address gets routed to a folder I made for Sony eBook Store, so I'd see it as soon as it arrived.

Also, I received an email back from Sony stating that I needed to call their 877 number, they would be unable to assist me through email. He he he.... So I get the customer service guy on the line and tell him my issue, and he tells me that they will have to escalate the call to have it researched and they will contact me in 48 hours!

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I do customer service for a large supplemental insurance company. It's always interesting when I have to call a customer service line of a company to see how we stack up against them. He was nice, but I felt like I was talking to my ISP.

Mine is my own domain, with no spam filtering by the host. The other x hundred spam emails a day make it through, so not sure why the Sony ones in particular would disappear en route.

Will be interesting to hear the outcome of your discussions with Sony, bobbydiv.

I checked my account through the ebook library store connect and email notification was checked, so then I added the redeem code to order a "bundle" book purchase but still didn't get the discount. Guess bundle purchase must not be considered "single purchase". (sigh) Live and learn....

What I found out.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. I asked for an email response, but I never got one, so I called back. I was told that per their information the emails should be going through just fine, I should try my SPAM folder.
:-) Ohh well. Even though I told them several times that it wasn't in the SPAM folder and that I'd added their address as a clean sender. That was their best answer. I think I'm going to try my ISP and then if nothing else works, I'll find a secondary email address that I can POP3. I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

Ok. Finally an answer. I contacted my ISP. At some point, it seems that SONY might have used that email address to send out unsolicited emails, as my ISP is blocking emails from that address. Their policy is to block emails after they receive 50+ complaints. It can be unblocked by the sending simply submitting their IP address for removal from the blocked list. I've submitted this to Sony, but I don't know what they'll do. Instead, I just created a GMAIL account since I can POP3 Gmail and I'll have it sent their.

Yekim54, if you could post just once more when you receive the next email, just to make sure I'm getting it the same time, I would really appreciate it. Thanks everyone for all of their suggestions and help in this. It's been greatly appreciated. I've tried to give Karma where I could. I'm still trying to understand just HOW to give Karma though, so I hope I didn't take any away from anyone..

I've found that hotmail actually loses a lot of email never ever to be found again.

Gmail is good if you need an address that supports pop that will allow the Sony email.

I think I might switch. I like my google better anyway, but I tend to use hotmail if I'm iffy about whether I'll get spammed or not.

Roger that. A new Sony email should be arriving tomorrow evening. For what it's worth, the Sony emails are sent to my Yahoo! address.

Interestingly, I haven't received any email w/ the specials, but I have received several offers for the sony rewards, and one for me to take a survey about the reader itself.

Just to get some clarification, can someone who receives the emails please let me know the address it is sent from. is it from sony.com or the other email address mentioned in the earlier posts? I want to make sure my ISP is not blocking them but probably need to make sure that I have the address right. Thanks

Natalie
