New version of DRM removal tools ("DeDRM") - Page 40

I'm encountering problems with the last book I bought from Amazon.

And I do mean the last book. If the problem isn't solved, my Amazon book-buying days are at an end. I'll be damned if I'm going to rent books whose readability lasts only as long as the vendor's success. I've lived long enough to see many a giant of the industry bite the dust.

No, I haven't been using K4PC. I just updated to 6.4 just before the problem began.

Maybe I'll try an old re-install of K4PC.

I downloaded a few books on Saturday by using the "download for transfer via USB" method, and all were imported to Calibre with no problem, including one that I'm certain had DRM applied to it. I'm using Calibre v. 2.48, tools v 6.32 and I'm running Windows10 as my OS.

I'm using calibre 2.53, tools 6.4.0, and Windows 10, and the "download for transfer via USB" method ain't working for me. I may try deleting the latest tools and reinstalling an earlier version.

Rolling back to 6.3.2 didn't help. I don't know what's going on, but since being a member of this site I've spent around $4,000.00 on Kindle books and never had a problem until today. I'm not asking for solutions, as this is something I should get from Alf's website, but it is aggravating. My book buying is on hold until the problem is solved. If I wanted to borrow the damn books, I'd go to the library. Seen too many companies come and go to tie my library to any of them.

Don't know how familiar you are with all of this but your thumbnail simply confirms that drm was not removed. Unfortunately as you know the assistance that can be given here is minimal. However, I would check that the correct Kindle Serial Number is still shown in the plugin (Preferences - Plugins - Customize). Then run calibre in debug mode and import a book with DRM. If the resulting log does not give you the answer post it to Alf's blog.

That is good news. Just remember that the DRM is not cracked, but only reverse engineered.
