That sounds like a very good reason for casting him.

Then afterwards you can cast someone decent

(apologies to any Tom Cruise fans out there...)

I cannot believe a job like this wasn't filled before it was even posted.

Funny. I also thought of Marc immediately when I saw it.

I saw this 3 min. video (after a brief ad) on CBS Sunday Morning a week or two ago. As Mr. Potter said in It's A Wonderful Life, "sentimental hogwash". Well, tough beans. I'm posting it and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4696315n

Why am I posting it here? No clue but it just might be a tiny stress reliever.

If you consider it not as an advertisement for a job-opening, but a way to get massive advertising coverage of their location for free (or, at least, at the relatively minor cost of a job placement), then the reason the job wasn't filled becomes apparent.

Hey, I live here:

I wake every morning to a tap on my shoulder telling me my bedside latte is going cold, I can either walk out onto the balcony for a spa, or down the stairs to my own, private, palm-and-rock-bordered pool with bar and Balinese open air "cabana" with daybed, or walk down to the beach pictured above for a bodysurf or just a lie-down and people-watch or a read/write. The fridge and bar are fully stocked, I've got free broadband-wifi to surf or blog (or not) whenever I feel like (hardly ever on the blogging), and I have The Loved One and my dogs with me 24-7. Also, I don't have to work.

It'd be a fantastic job, but if forced to choose between working and retirement, I pick the latter.

Cheers,
Marc

Ah, well, fairness is not a concept fundamentally fitted into the fabric of the universe. Consider, it was management- and ego-led deconstruction and destruction that brought me here - sorto-of of a Kali-esque corporate apocalypse on my Self that still and too-often, amongst other things, takes me deeper into my own, private, little Hells, but which may lead to a rebirth if I can find the birth canal out of the drowned woods and learn how to manage the gondola without falling out all the time.

It's all a rich tapestry, but if you can't comprehend the patterns sometimes you get bloody-minded and start pulling on random loose threads. Does this help? I don't know - ask me later, when I'm "happy".

[These mixed metaphors and dead-ended psuedo-allusions are brought to you by Montsnmags Enterprises Publishing, the letter "13", and this bit of wax I just picked out of my ear and which looks a little like sweet baby Jesus on a cracker]
