I think it's a joke, too.

The funniest part is where the tenant says We interpret the bible literally in every way possible, and asks for more than 480$/month, which is, according to evangelist Luke, a one way ticket to Hell (it's more than the income of about 75% of the world population, so the one who earns so much is definitely rich).

But, when it comes to camels and needle's eyes, the interpretation is not so literal...

Yeah, the college roommate was the only one I ever had. He broke up with his girlfriend the second semester, so was around a bit more. After that, I was an RA and had a single room, then married.

no, i never heard from her after that, but i left san francisco not long after myself (enough was enough). that was the last time i ever shared an appartment with a room mate.

it was a brutal shock to me though because before that i shared an appartment with 3 german guys (that was in paris, we were all students) and it was the best thing ever. we all got along really well, took turns cooking dinner and washing up, shared the groceries and the expenses, it was really a lot of fun. i am still friends with those guys but sadly i haven't seen them in a long time.

yep. also a few words which *are* taught in german courses.

one evening we were invited to dinner at a russian friend's house who also spoke german (she had studied in germany i believe, or maybe she was half german, i forget), but she had only heard me speaking french. you should have seen the shocked and amazed expression on her face when i asked her "kannst-du mir das schwartz brot geben bitte ?" (but, sorry, i don't know how to spell in german !!)

but really i only know about 15 words in german. and sadly i've forgotten quite a lot of what i used to know.
