Kindle voyage slowed to a crawl after update

God dammit, if you're going to create new firmware, at least sell us the exorbitantly expensive hardware to be able to be able to use it! Anybody else have a really slow device after the update?
Im getting so tired of Amazon's "walled garden" approach to tech, think I'm going to go back to a Kobo device upon the next gen, if new devices ever come out :-/

Mine is working OK! As speedy as before the upgrade. Did you resrtart it? Do you have many books? Mabe its indexing them...

No speed difference on my Voyage. Presumably you've checked that it's not got stuck indexing?

Mine has creeped to a crawl twice and I had to restart it.

It's not related to update. Just restart it till next slowness

My Voyage has been fine since the update and I updated early before it was pushed out over the air.

Mine is occasionally a bit slow both before and after the update, but a restart sorts it out. I do definitely think the battery is going down somewhat faster since the update (which I do like, by the way) - not enough to be an issue but noticeable.

It is probably re-indexing stuff (or is stuck reindexing a corrupt book). Just search for '.' from Home screen and check search results for 'text in books'. This will show a list of 'items not yet indexed' if it is still indexing. If something in that list persists, you need to delete it and get a fresh copy, or indexing will keep running as a background process and drain the battery faster than normal.
