yes i think coz there were pre installed screen savers

Go to your Amazon account, under "Manage Your Content and Devices".

If all contents of a folder "jb" from archive "jb.zip" copy in Kindle-root, and then to enter in an address line of browser this local address - jailbreak worked without problems:
file:///mnt/us/index.html

Tested in PW3 G090 with stock firmware 5.6.5, aeroplane-mode "on".

I thought the stock browser didn't even handle file:/// urls.

I'm running into a strange issue with updating to 5.7.2.1. I have sucessfully jailbroken and installed KUAL, MRpackage, and the screensaver hack. I folowed mj52's guide and it works great. Now I want to update to 5.7.2.1 like what MrCaringi did a few post back. Problem is when I place the Amazon update in my root kindle directory I get this message.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or should I just wait for the Over The Air update?

@Mendelson: Make sure you don't have any stray .bin files in the (USB) root of your device, clean those up if need be, restart your device completely, and try again.

And, of course, make sure you're using the right update package for your actual device (Amazon's naming scheme can be deceiving, right now: all_new_paperwhite is the PW3, paperwhite_v2 is the PW2).

Update package is for the wrong model.

Take the first 4 (or 6) characters of your serial number, check this chart:

For the model nickname used here, and somebody will translate that to what Amazon Marketing calls it.

I updated my Jailbroken Paperwhite 2nd Gen and it survived the update to 5.7.2.1. KUAL was still installed and all left to do was to reinstall screensaver hack via mrpackages and it WORKS!

Hope this can be usefull for someone wondering if this kindle works on the updated software. Thanks for the hard work everyone.
