My question got buried a couple of pages back, I'd appreciate if anybody could point me in the right direction!

You're not using Calibre, right? I seem to recall reading recent Kindle changes making it not play nice with Calibre anymore.

There's this, but that really isn't about adding books to collections but rather syncing the collections between your device and Kindle fo PC.

Sorry, maybe someone with a Kindle will remember.

I agree it's a self-pub, that doesn't however make it fake. There are Phoenix Rising Enterprises, Inc's in multiple states and a lot of self-pub authors, especially some of the more successful ones (Marie Force & Bella Andre come to mind at first thought) have incorporated their publishing business for various reasons.

In this case this particular instance of Phoenix Rising Enterprises Inc. was incorporated in California by Kathia Zolfaghari (aka Kate Perry) in 2012.

I get that it can be misleading in that someone might think it's a full blown publishing house with multiple authors, but it's not fake or somehow not legit.



What I really kind of hate are the authors self-pubbing their backlist and trying to pass them off as being published by their old publishers.

If it's an ebook and the pbook is still in print or widely available used then Amazon try to link them both. Original publisher references may happen this way or just from finger trouble.


But if a publishing company is named say "Phoenix Rising Enterprises" the state of registration should also be used.

So Macmillian plc, registered in England.

Yes, I use Calibre.

The latest Kindle for PC seems to be working for me so far. *knocks on wood* I updated because the message that came with the latest update stated that basically the old one would stop working after March [something to that effect].

I'll just leave well enough alone for now, but thank you for replying.

As do I. With some, it's hard to catch, unless the paper publisher is one that gets listed as the seller at Amazon. Checking at B&N or Kobo also sometimes uncovers the mislabeling, as they list some of the self-pub sources better than Amazon does.
