Tweaks renumbering books
Hi,
maybe this is a tread already discussed, but I've not found it. The problem is that, when I select several books and I try to modify the Group metadata assigning to all books the same series, Calibre assign to all also the same serial number (1). In the Tweaks section I tried "first free" and "next free", but the result is the same. There is a way to force Calibre to assign to each book a progressive number, even using any "empty" number, i.e. not yet assigned or from a removed book? I know that by assigning a number to a book at a time works well, but when you have to work on a large number of books is a little exhausting. Many thanks. Best regards, Gianni P.s. I work with latest Calibre 64bit version and Windows 10 |

Look at the Manage Series plug in. It has a lot of nice options

Isn't there an option for this already on the Basic Metadata Tab when selecting multiple books?

That only controls during the ADD (tha is done by a Tweak setting) Bulk MDE is more limited (simple) than the PI The Manage Series PI allows total manipulation of the series[n] field (name and index) for the selected group of books Last edited by theducks; 02-11-2016 at 03:24 PM. Reason: Oops |

I've occasionally had need to re-number books after a bulk add/edit has gone wrong. Unless we're talking about something else. |
