Kindle firmware version 5.7.2 - Page 19

I quite like the update overall

but I'm not using the new home screen.

My only big annoyance is, as noted by several people, the loss of the little dots underneath books that indicated length at a glance - always found these quite useful.

Helvetica has always been the only one of the provided fonts that I like, however since we got the JB for 5.6.5, I'm back to using the font hack anyway

Plus they're fixing Helvetica in the next update, aren't they?

Update to the update.

The latest software version for Kindle Voyage (7th Generation) is 5.7.2.1.

I cannot confirm or deny that as I've never jailbroken this kindle.

I installed on top of 5.7.2, don't notice any discernible difference.

I've updated a couple of minutes ago... 5.2.7.1. over 5.2.7.
Had to reinstall screensaver hack, but the jailbreak is still in place and working ok!

With regard to it no longer showing the little progress dots underneath the book covers, it now shows the actual progress percentage on the top right of each cover for me. I liked the little dots too, but this is much better IMO and less obtrusive.

Yeah but the dots were useful to roughly judge the length of a book, the progress % only tells you how much of it you've read.
Up until now, If I didn't feel like starting a long book, I'd pick one with fewer dots; or if I wanted a long book, I'd pick one with more dots. Can't do that anymore

Nope, no dots.

Actually just like you mentioned, I don't see any obvious changes.

Did they fix the thin Helvetica issue in 5.7.2.1 ?

Helvetica has certainly been restored to it's semi-bold goodness on the PW2. Cecilia, I'm certain, was also changed from semi-bold to normal with 5.7.2, which has the interesting result of making Helvitca now noticeably darker than Caecilia (they used to look about the same to me. I'm not complaining though, Caecilia is still a very readable font without the semi-bold. As a bonus, actual bold text is now much more distinguishable.
