Onyx can only used screens that are available; they can't be held responsible for the fact that PVI have delayed their release date. That why I asked you if you would prefer that Onyx not release the product at all until the higher-resolution screen are available.

Well,That seems the first version is about to be released. One question pops up and that is:"Is there any micro SD card slot?"

If most of the people wait for a 'second version' there will be none. I think the Onyx Max will be a market test to find out if 13.3 inch readers can be sold with a profit. Last edited by joblack; 02-08-2016 at 05:01 PM. |

I would pass this first version for sure! Not fulfilled a lot. But it is better than SONY. Wait for the Boox Max plus. higher resolution and capacitive screen!

I'm sure booxtor will be able to shift through the his 2000 lot as it is a unique product,
Although weather or not to Onyx 2000 is considered enough of a success to warrant a second model only Onyx (and maybe booxtor :P) knows that. |

I would definitely pick one from Booxter,I mean the first 13 inch generation.Waiting for so long, unsatisfactory experience with Sony 13 inch model, and uselessly endless debates with crazy 6 inch lovers convinced me that this is the time to pick Onyx 13.3 inch device. The only questions remained are:The RAM and ROM which seems 1+8,and the micro SD card slot capability.

Three questions to ask:
External micro SD card support? Battery run time and specification(mAh)? Wi-Fi capability? I am not sure, but my sixth sense tells me that this is most probably is the Netronix 13.3 inch prototype screen for e-readers,shown last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-SnpwAsIYc Have a look at second 31! |

This doesn't have a front light, right? Would LEDs be able to provide an even light across such a large screen?

Again, Boox Max is the best e-ink reader in the market although lack of a lot of promised features. Back to several years, even M92 was better than 9.7" Kindle. If you plan to buy your 1st Eink Book Reader. Boox Max is the 1st choice without any hesitation. I already have M92 and Surface Pro 4. I would hold until the high resolution and capacitive screen come out. Hope Boox Max marketing success so that the Boox Max+ will be realized!

Personally, I'm not buying anything that doesn't have some kind of built in lighting (and I don't count a cover with attached light as built in.)

Personally, I don't buy any E-ink reader which reflective light is not the only way to illuminate the reading area. That is the goal of E-ink. Health for your eyes. Otherwise, why not buy a tablet!?
