I want to help

I really want to make a better browser for the Kindle. Can anyone get me up to speed on what I should do?

"Better" is subjective.

Try our build of SkipStone - it has been reported to work on the new firmware.

If you don't like that one, try our build of Midori - no one has reported on that one yet.

Skipstone's keyboard is a bit finicky. And no zoom. I'll try Midori!

Your info block says: "kindle 7th gen" there are three or four of them.

If you mean the KT-2 -
That one has the IR-scanner like the original KT rather than a capacitive touch screen.

Translation: Use smaller fingers.

It's not about that. It's that I can't login to many things(such as MR mobile) because the keyboard blocks the textbar.

Sorry, I could only guess at the technical meaning of: "finicky"

Ah, once again (I am too lazy to backtrack in this thread), which model?
Is it one of the 300dpi devices (that might part of this problem)?

Let us know how midori works out -
All I recall is that twobob put in a lot of time getting it to build.

I'm using a KT2. When I try to logon to mobileread.mobi, I can't click on the password bar, as the keyboard is blocking it. And history isn't properly recorded(I think). And any accessed site are still shown in the dropdown of the adress bar. It's generally a fine browser though, but not as simple as the in-built one. I still need to try Midori...
