@Fireye: The extra logging is pushed to the system log .

Either dump it (;dm in the homescreen's searchbar), or look it up over shell (showlog). Look for linkss/libkh/cover prefixes.

You most likely either don't have Python installed, or are reading KFX books (in which case, use the snapshot version).

The chain of dependence is basically:

JB -> KUAL -> MRPI -> Python -> LinkSS

----

The JB instructions are FW-specific, so, find the right one for your FW version.
KUAL is basically just an archive to uncompress in the right place, as is MRPI.
Python & LinkSS are custom update packages, that you can install in one go via MRPI (see the MRPI thread).

That's embarrassing. I get all of the way through the "hard" stuff and forget to install the actual SS package All is good now. Thank you for the quick response and all of the awesome work

I installed everything right , but, I put my wallpaper ( in the right resolution) restart the kindle and will not , it does not appear ...

To get back on track, you can try to remove the linkss folder manually, then reinstall the hack without trying to touch anything on your end, and check if you see the custom welcome screensaver to begin with.

Some help if possible...

Did everything as described above, but when installing either python or linkss or both at once I get "Package script failed (1), moving on... ". Any advice on what I'm doing wrong? I've did JB through kindlefere.com/jb/, but Update_jailbreak_bridge_1.14.N_install.bin went ok after that, so I presume JB worked.

Device is Kindle Voyage.

@agyar: if you weren't already, use the packages from my snapshots. If you were, I'll need the first six characters of your device's S/N, as well as the country is was bought in/shipped to (and whether it's 3G or WiFi only).

I did tried with your snapshots as well but same result.
Serial is B013 09, Wi-Fi only. Bought in UK, but can't be 100% sure since it was second hand.

@agyar: Okay, that one should *definitely*, be supported.

Can you PM me the MRPI log (it's in extensions/MRInstaller/log/mrinstaller.log)?
Alternatively, it's plaintext, and what's logged should hopefully be clear enough to figure out for yourself .

(Again, if you weren't already, try to get me a log generated with the current MRPI snapshot, I added some more logging at one point and can't remember if that made it in the last release).

EDIT: For posterity's sake, @agyar resolved his issue (PEBCAK during the original extraction of MRPI ).

Before I was seeing the patterns roles amazon, now I reinstalled Linkss, and confirm that the paper confirmation is appearing.
I have 7 wallpapers that want to appear, how I do it (I do not know if you are on the correct resolution)

You NEED to follow these directives: non-PNG files will be discarded by the hack, and broken files or files in the wrong resolution will confuse the framework and trigger weird issues.
