Hmm... That means the text size is from one of those other files that one "requires" near the top of the file. Which will take a little bit of digging. Meanwhile, enjoy your re-sized File Manager title.

Unless one of the authors that have it memorized answers here. PS: the grep command is what is used to search for a string in a tree of files. |

As you have probably read, I last used Windows in the days of Win95 - so I am not an expert.
But yes, that looks like a string search program that can do the job for you. |

I have tested the last stable build on my onyx i86. I have to say, it displays the books perfectly. In fact, I noticed that after each page turn, the text is very crisp and devoid of any ghosting. The only reason why I won't be using this now is because it doesn't support external dictionary and I'm not a fan of the stardict format.

https://github.com/kernel1024/goldendict-lib + https://github.com/dohliam/gdcl = complete lightweight goldendict library would be amazing, but impossible to happen (they get money with their commercial Android app).
If it supports ColorDict, it will run in GoldenDict and others ![]() (moving topic? )

The (nearly defunct) Duokan project is probably a good example of open source (ours) used for commercial purposes. |

@timofonic I have been looking in that direction, too. However, gdcl is just a wrapper and it's written in Ruby. Both would introduce serious performance penalties. Still, it's a hopeful development.
For now Chrox seems to have a good grasp of sdcv and has introduced a few meaningful enhancements into koreader's dictionary use. Especially, the option to look up a word in the dictionary itself is nice, since it will allow for the use of synonyms. That part of the development will be strengthened when I finally get around to sort the 8GB tarball of the Stardict dictionaries into those unburdened by copyright and those not, make them available in a repo and write an dictionary download plugin together with chrox. This would also alleviate the problem mentioned: "For users of GoldenDict who have large collections of dictionaries in other formats (e.g. DSL or BGL), converting and maintaining two parallel sets of dictionaries is not a practical solution." A separately maintained repo for uncopyrighted automatically downloadable Stardict libraries seems a rather practical solutions if it becomes a community effort. All we seem to need is a good start with the sorting of the 8GB tarball. What would be nice is a separate dictionary plugin, that would allow for less sparse dictionary entries: with images and preformatted text. The performance penalties due to ruby-to-lua-wrapper, command-line-to-goldendict-wrapper and the goldendict dictionary itself would than be something the user can choose to use or not. Hi all, I know there is a visual tutorial at the beginning of this thread on how to do this, but I cannot get the font resize menu to show up. Just installed KOReader (latest nightly build, I think) and the font menu just will not show up. Any hints on this?

@Enor: If you are indeed using the latest nightly, try with the latest stable, on the off-chance something wonky happened recently.
Also, on which device is this (the device info of your forum profile is empty)? |

I was wondering if anyone might be willing to help me with KPV Booklet. I tried downloading the update bin from this page, and "Update Device" is greyed out after I place it in /mnt/us. So next, I tried modifying the build-updates.sh for "-d pw2" but zip is not a command on my system. I added kindletool to my PATH and used it to create an update bin, but it gave me the same error as initially - that is, I place the update bin in the root folder and it disappears. I did all of this with BackDoorLock disabled, just in case that would interfere, but no dice.
I don't know what to do next or how to install this, but I'd really like native browsing with KOReader interface. Is there an easy method that I'm missing somehow? Did I do a step wrong? Windows 8.1, Kindle PW2 90D4 |
