Hi there and specially to Oren64
I've followed your instructions for the patch and the addition of the Hebrew keyboard. I can now swith from latin characters to Hebrew one to add notes. But my problem of selection is still there. To recall you, with epub Hebrew ebook the selection is all right, it takes all the letters of a selected word but of course the direction of writing is inverted. The replacement of the extension by .kepub.epub for Hebrew ebooks resolve the problem of direction, I had just to choose the right font that involves hebrew characters like arial, time new roman, aharoni and many others, but on my ereader kobo aura, a problem of selection appears, just two letters are selected each time I want to find a definition for a word, therefore I can't test the He-en dictionnary. The patch didn't solve that problem. Have I done something wrong or any other idea ? Perhaps someone else face this problem too ?https://www2.mobileread.com/i/smiliesadd1/help.gif https://www2.mobileread.com/i/smiliestext/thankyou.gif |

Sorry i gave you bad file, use this dictionary i test it and it works fine.
EDIT: all words that start with (ה, ש, מ, ל) like (שלא, הבאים, לבנת) are not show. So use the dictionary from the book and use the Hebrew keyboard to write the the word without the extension in the beginning. Last edited by oren64; 02-05-2016 at 06:19 AM. |

Oren64,
great, I can confirm that the dico works like you said, I've selected the word "מול" in a .kepub.epub ebook from mendele, my selection takes just two letters "ול" but the dico gives me the English definition for it. It's a good news. Thanks. Any idea for the selection problem ? |

You are welcome.
=== === === Reading the last posts in this thread confirmed my impression that Kobo is doing a bit of a sloppy work on their dictionary-related functions. As mentioned before, feel free to complain with the Kobo customer care about it. Probably it will not yield a solution, but maybe they will start to consider the issue more seriously than they have done so far. |

From the command line you posted, I see you are using an old version of Penelope, no longer supported.
Please update ( https://github.com/pettarin/penelope ) and try again. |

Hello,
Thankx for Penelope, a very usefull tool... But it's a bit hard to implement for a non-programming guy like me... :/ Do you know if an alternative French dictionary exist ? I'm looking for "Le nouveau Littré" that seems to be very complete, and anyway much better tnan the one in my Kobo H2O. Thanks Luck |
