The order history will always show the number of credits being the same as the number of books purchased on the sales. They add a "non-membership credit" to the account at the same time as the order; they just don't annotate that anywhere and there is no mention of credits used on the receipts they email out.

I always watch the # of credits available when making a purchase. I did get overcharged on a sale, once, several years ago (pre-Amazon; a sale ended prematurely). Other than that, all the credit sales I've participated in have worked correctly in the last few years.

What do you do to get on their mailing list? Are a "member"? I went rummaging around on their website looking for a way to get on their snail mail mailing list, but couldn't find a way to do it.

I have bought quite a few things from Downpour, but I never get anything (that I can remember) in snail mail from them. Getting coupons like that would be nice, especially if I could use them on sale items.

I got the mailer as well, last week IIRC. The only thing I've ever bought from them is freebie's and one book with a free trial membership back whem they first launched.

Wow, that's a terrible way to track things. I really have no idea if my credits were wrong or if I just got two undeserved free credits.

Like AnemicOak, I signed up for a free trial when they launched and have gotten a few freebies since, but that's it. The only thing I've done recently was to install and setup the Downpour app on my $10 Black Friday Moto E 2nd Gen smartphone media player.

By the way, even though I had a free trial membership back in 2012, I was able to use the FIRSTDP code for a new free trial membership today.

Thank you for mentioning this. I just assumed it wouldn't work and didn't try, but I now have one free credit to use.

Now to find something. I'm sure it won't be a problem at all, but the first four books I went looking for aren't available (but are on Audible). Selection was the problem I ran in to when I tried DP before. It looks like their selection is way better than it was back then, but not quite as good as I'd wish for.

As far as I know, this is the first time they've sent anything via snail mail. I've never had a membership before, but I've gotten a lot of their freebies and deal of the week or other sale items.

I'm thinking of putting my Audible membership on hold and staying with Downpour for a while instead, saving a couple of bucks a month.

Hmmm . . . . well, if they sent me something, it looks like I would have gotten it by now. I might call them and see what's up.

I do get their emails--at least their deals of the week or month or whatever. Sometimes they're fairly good. Don't remember getting announcements of other sales, though, but I may have forgotten.
