I honestly can't see the benefit in seeing an exact percentage. All anyone cares about is whether it's full, half empty, or will soon need charging. What do you perceive the benefit to be of seeing a number?

It would be more accurate than squinting at a small battery image to see if it's nearly empty or not? People are used to things like tablets & phones displaying a percentage and are comfortable with this? People just like to know!?
Doesn't particularly bother me since the battery life isn't so crucial on a Kindle, but I can certainly understand people wanting a more accurate gauge. ![]() |

I do see your point, but I would have thought personally that a small number would be more prone to misreading than a small analogue indicator. It's very difficult to confuse a "nearly full" with a "nearly empty" gauge, but very easy to misread "30%" as "80%" if the numbers are small.

Just updated and I like the new look so far, however Ive reverted to using my cloud collections added all of them to the kindle but so far not a single book hs downloaded only the collection.
Im sure when I did this previously adding the collection also added the books? Am I wrong? If not then how can trigger all the books to download. |

No issues while reading with the new thinner fonts ? I can barely read on my PW2 because of the fine lines and thus contrast reduction. Though my settings has the smallest font, smallest border and smallest linespacing applied (to get more content on a page). With 5.6.5 and less I was able to read clearly and easily that way. With 5.7.2 it turned out to be impossible. Even increasing the font size by 1+ or 2+ didn't change much. Even worse when you use the Beta-Browser or Kindle Shop. Try reading the thin lines of fonts - Close to impossible for me now.

I just got a new Voyage last week (upgraded from Kindle Keyboard). I'm guessing it hasn't updated yet because I still have the dots for progress. Where do you check on the unit for Update?

If you want it now, download the installation file from Amazon. |

However, if you're not interested in installing KOReader for reading ePubs and PDFs, you might as well download the firmware from the Amazon website. |

Unless you feel a particular urge to be an "early adopter", personally I always feel it's worth waiting a week or so to see if any bugs show up. Amazon are pretty good at testing things prior to release, but it does occasionally happen.

Finally getting use to the update, and I have to say I like it. I like seeing the percentage of book completion. And I am getting use to the new home page.
But I do have a question about the voyage, what happened to the page turn button sensitivity settings. I can not find them. |

I use Bookerly, which I like. But no: No issues. Everything seems to work fine with me. Does your PW2 have the higher resolution screen? (I can't remember when they went to a higher screen on the PWs.) |
