But I too would like Dropbox to have some more price points like that. The 1Tb is not something I'd need, and I'd probably go for the Office 365 first (as I get more than 1Tb for the same price...) But I prefer DB over OneDrive!

Are you talking about Windows Mobile devices? "iCloud Drive" works fine on desktop versions of Windows, from Windows 7 onwards. Works pretty much the same as DB - just drop files into the iCloud folder and they automatically stay in sync across your devices.

Yes, I meant all windows versions. That includes the Windows 10 Mobile OS.

(got Android, W10M, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 running on my various devices and virtual machines)

Edit: a cloud solution that doesn't cover all my OS's is not a solution for me

Completely understandable. I just have desktop Windows and iOS devices, so it works well for me.

I have accounts with OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, Copy, SpiderOak and PogoPlug and some of those have a lot more space than my DropBox account, but I just find DropBox works best for me in general.
We have the ITB Dropox plan, it works great for us and is accessible on every laptop and device we have. When we signed up for it it was for 100GB and then they made it 1TB for the same price so for us it was a win.

As Android browsers identify themselves as such via the user agent, I wonder if that would preclude their use. You can override this on some Android browsers, but even then it's hit and miss in my experience. Being locked out of your, paid for, cloud service due to using the 'wrong' OS is too risky. I'll pass!

Apple clearly don't want Android users or they'd explicitly mention them as being supported, which they don't. I checked

I agree completely. There is no way I am paying $120/yr so Apple iCloud gets my money ($15.50/yr).

I'm also in agreement with this.

Right now, Apple's looking good to me. I'm Android, but it would be cheap stopgap insurance against catastrophe. I'd miss the interface with my doohickeys but if I haven't found a cheap alternative in a couple of months I may just go with it. And Apple's not going anyplace.

Are you really surprised that Apple would stop you from using their services on Android?

Yes, I am a little surprised. The web browser interface to iCloud is completely "o/s agnostic" to the best of my knowledge. It's pure HTML5.

That's why I said "will stop you from" instead of "is incompatible with".

The Apple executives are not agnostic at all...

^That. Was true before network accessible storage was called cloud and will remain true regardless what the nom du jour might be in the future.

I don't want any apple cloud. I want easy to work with all my devices. I have zero apple devices. Drop box I can have on my phone on my fire on my nexus tablet, on my computers, backing up my pictures automatically, on everything. Easy. Years ago I couldn't even figure out how to operate itunes. A less intuitive thing I have never encountered. Haven't touched it since.

Right now I am on a discounted Amazon cloud plan. They changed their stuff on me too. I used to have the 20GB plan I think it was 20. Was cheap per year and all I needed. Now its unlimited and $59 a year. Sigh. I have a new months to go before it goes to full price for me. Full $59 I mean. Still half of Drop box cost though.

I just don't have enough space in my drop box to be useful. I don't need to have everything free, I want to pay. But not $120 a year for space I don't need. I am just baffled at their lack of a lower end plan. They afraid that many on the $120 plan would move to the lower priced one. Its all I can think of for such a weird way of doing business.
