My mom won a crappy no name tablet in a raffle and since she's completely computer-illiterate, she gave it to me. It's more trouble than it's worth so I've never used it. I gave up after trying to set it up and had kinds of touch response issues and the battery lasted about it an hour...and takes about a day to recharge. I don't know what to do with it. Donate it? Trash it? It's really buggy. I wonder if it's worth trying to root it? Last edited by tdonline; 01-29-2016 at 01:17 PM. |

I do have a convertible-type little laptop but I don't use it as a tablet. And I do have a smart phone. But every time I think I've decided on a tablet, something else seems to come up that makes me back-burner the purchase. And then new models with new features come along, and I have to start the decision-making process all over. I'm ridiculously indecisive when it comes to "luxury" items, especially the first time I buy one and don't know exactly which features are truly going to matter to me as opposed to the ones I think I have to have. |

Exactly. It's happening with smartphones as well -- especially the high-end ones. What was last year's "status symbol" is this year's commodity.

Maybe use it as a digital clock, or if the screen is not too bad, for some family pictures? |

![]() I find mine handy for music, I like the larger-than-a-smartphone-screen so I can see the apps and pick out music easier. Also use them for Overdrive audio books. Connecting them to a bluetooth speaker allows me to move around the house and 'carry' the audio book and music with me. Occasionally I watch Netflix or Hulu on them. |

It only happens once or twice a year; and they advertise it.

With large screen phones like samsung note and iPhone 6plus. I think the demand for tablets has gone down specially in the expensive tablet niche.

Yes, it's a gamble putting another OS onto the device. I only did the nook because it was not much use with the OS it had on it. |

I agree. For the last few years my wife has used Samsung Galaxy phones (the last two have been Notes) and I think their interfaces are bloated and inefficient. She likes them, however, so I guess choice is what's important.
