Please could someone give me an example of a VAT number for South Africa? I want to move there but it keeps telling me the VAT number format is wrong.

Its now been 11 weeks since I had a confirmation email from Venus Pun saying the Kobo I had won would be sent within 6-10 weeks. I've never heard anything else or received anything from them. I have emailed and messaged them on Facebook but have had no reply. Its fair to say I'm not very happy

I can't get my 65 or 75 codes to work (Canada), though a 45 does work on that same book. Is there some rule about some books having max discount percentages, or is Kobo just giving out crappy codes?

They have done these twice before. We authors help promo the opportunity for obvious reasons--it is a great deal for everyone involved. For the most savings look for boxed sets. There are many boxed sets with multiple authors and also a lot of boxed sets for single authors -- first 3 or first 4, even 5 in a series. Of course, individual titles are on sale too in every genre.

I haven't had any problems with the contest codes. I even had some applied to my cart, accidentally backed out, and had to reapply them. They all worked.

Thanks for mentioning JAN1650. 23 books and a few more days to go!

Probably crap codes.
I did have a 75% and it DID work, but because I sent the checkout to paypal and then tried to back out of it (I was not charged) Kobo counted the code as used even though it wasn't.

With your codes, you could probably appeal to CS and they would fix it, but it is a fairly long process. (I got a free book code from them once that, of course, didn't work. It took about 3-4 business days, but they DID fix it.)

Didn't work in the Hong Kong store, on a supposedly couponable book. The system applied the discount, but every time I tried to check out I got the message: "Oops! Something went wrong. Please check your payment information."

I went to online chat. They cleared my payment and billing info, so I could re-enter it all. I did so, and the purchase still wouldn't work. But I then got a text from my bank that Kobo had charged me a HK$1 "authorization fee" for my "new" credit card (actually, same as the old one).

You haven't seen me on this forum for a while because I stopped buying from Kobo when prices jacked up and no coupons were valid on the HK store.

I'm now about to delete my Kobo account. I'm furious.

Hmmm... well, I contacted them again with very unsatisfactory results since I got another high code which wouldn't work either...their reaction... no, we can't give you replacement codes during their "investigation". yes, they realise the codes will expire tomorrow. no, they can't guarantee they will work before they expire. or do anything but tell me when they've finished the "investigation".

figures this would happen when i actually got excellent codes. ...50% unlimited is nice, but it's not enough for some books.

I won't bother posting my less than 50, but I suppose there might be people who have a use, if so, PM me.
