Dawn French, in "The Vicor of Dibley". I loved that show so much, I once rented the entire series from the library, and watched in a three day weekend. Each and everyone of the characters were great. I wanted to move to whereever that place was. I really did.

Pruning my CD collection; a close inspection has revealed that I've accumulated a depressingly large number of naff albums over the years.

I may be too embarrassed to go to the charity shop with them (can't imagine anyone would buy them), so they may go straight in the bin.

or, you could break the cds into pieces, assemble them with bits of wire, and make them into a disco-ball-esque chandelier for your living room. that's what i did.

Sounds like a very artistic way to recycle CDs - but I don't have the patience or skill to attempt something like that (I'd slice my hands to ribbons on the shards).

I will try sticking some on poles in the flowerbeds - in the hope that glimpsing their reflections may deter some of the local cats from coming here for comfort breaks.

heh, yes, or there's that option. also i heard that you can suspend them from tree branches to keep the birds from eating the fruit (i don't know if that really works though). i really like cds, i think they're pretty. after i made my chandelier all my friends would give me cds, this was when you got those internet cds in the mailbox practically every week, plus any other trash cds they had. so i've got quite a stock of them now, alas, and i don't need any more chandeliers, so i'll have to think of other uses for them.

As for what I'm doing right now, I just purchased five Eddie Izzard albums and I'm going outside to build stuff and listen to them and laugh.

I'm also going to call the resident armadillo a "paki" and see if it bothers him. Call it a cross-species cultural experiment. Or, as noted below, I may call him "James" or "Harold." I suspect none of these monikers is going to get much of a response, but I could be wrong.

I must go now, my grandmother is on fire.

yes, the shadows are one of the best things about it. another is sometimes it makes rainbow reflections. and as you can see in the third photo, if you just give it a little spin it can substitude advantageously for a disco ball.

wouldn't dare what ? allow such an abomination in my house ? no, certainly not, you are right.

most of them had labels, they were mostly internet cds or music cds i didn't want to keep.
