Mute the sound?
Patiently go through each of your gazillion open tabs looking for the one that has the advert for noisy emoticons at the top?

i'm working on the last one.* have i mentioned just how many tabs i have open ??? since i'm also listening to music (in the headphones, while i am washing dishes / straightening things up / etc.) i don't want to turn the sound off entirely. besides, this is personal. the ding will not win !!!!

In browsers bells are ringing
Ding dong verily the streets
Are filled with shums all screaming
