Is it? OK - I have the 50GB for $1/month option, which seems excellent value.

I use mostly dropbox for one line storage. I just use the iPhone for my spur of the moment photos and a Nikon D-90 for my more serious photos. I have the 5G iCloud and use less than .6G.

I do use music match and have well over 100 G in music, movies and tv shows. I believe that Apple saves space by storing only one copy of each song, movie, etc.. that everyone shares. I think that iBook uses this mechanism rather than the iCloud storage that you buy. Certainly, iBook doesn't show up in my iCloud storage at the moment. I've got the beta and several G worth of books.

I should stress that I don't use my iThings to actually take photographs ; I have a Nikon D7100 for that. I shoot in raw, process my pictures on my PC in Adobe Lightroom, and only then export JPEG images and load them onto iCloud so I can view them on my iPad.

Interesting. Of course, one can take quality shots with an iThing. Good shots are all about eye and lighting anyway. Unfortunately for me, my sister got all the artistic genes. She's a professional photographer. Still, it's a hobby that I enjoy.

Yep, seems to work. I took a book that I bought from Amazon. It synced up perfect between my iPad Air and iPad mini. Audiobooks don't sync, but I really didn't expect them to (but I had to try, just in case).

One thing that I notice is that I see some very odd behavior while iBooks is doing it's house keeping. Some of that is over 2500 books, but it's a problem that iBooks has had for a number of years. Hopefully, once all the house keeping gets done, everything will clear up.

The big reason that I moved to Marvin was because of it's ability to keep more or less in sync with Calibre, both the books, the meta data, the categories and the percentage read. It was a bit quirky how it worked, but it was workable. Once that stopped working, Marvin wasn't quite as useful as before.

While there are some features that I wish iBooks had, I plan to take a close look at it again now that it can sync books and categories over multiple platforms.

Can you post a screen shot of the UI in Mac iBooks that syncs with iCloud? I'm not running the beta on my mac yet, and can't see how to enable iCloud support for iBooks...

Thanks!

None of this is much use to me until they have a web version of iBooks. I only have two Apple devices, and for as little as I fire up iBooks on my venerable Macbook Pro, it might as well be something I do in a browser. Then I could also use it on any computer.

REALLY not sure why they also deleted the link to the tweet that had the image. What posting guideline did I violate with that?

Not worth my time to try posting again. Here's a link to the tweet that hopefully won't get deleted by the mods this time.

Let's make this clear right now:

1) If you would have taken the time to read my post #12, then you would know exactly why your post was deleted.

2) Too, it is YOUR responsibility to read those Posting Guidelines and to follow them, if you wish to post on Mobileread. If it's not worth your time posting correctly, then you should probably think about why you are posting in the first place.

3) Any further comment on a Moderatior action and your post will be deleted.

As a follow up after a week, iBooks really seems to be struggling with responsiveness. Some of that may just be the beta, but the lack of responsiveness is why I stopped using iBooks a while back. It just doesn't seem to handle that many books (2500 plus audiobooks) well.

Or if Amazon finally supported what they call Personal Documents in their respective apps (including the cloud reader)...
There’s always something, oh well
