Sigil word count?
Working in Sigil, I have a book that now consists of 35 files. Is there any way to get a word count, short of pasting the text-heavy sections into a Word doc?
Never mind -- I found it on the Calibre forum: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=242335 Last edited by Notjohn; 01-22-2016 at 10:54 AM. |

In Sigil this is quite easy. Just run the reports. In the overview of all HTML files you get the words per HTML file and the total.

You do know that you do not need to post the same question in both the calibre and Sigil forums at the same time?
If there wasn't an answer, we'd just tell you to use the calibre plugin. Fortunately, there is an answer -- Reports. That is kind of the fundamental reason for a Reports feature to exist. And just so you can cover all your bases (because I think you forgot to post a third thread in the calibre Editor forum), the calibre Editor has a Reports feature too, which also provides this data. It's like, no matter where you turn, you can't get away from this feature! All you need to do is ask -- once. ... no need to chase down a tool in a separate application which removes you from your workflow... **Doesn't want to paste into Word, so instead he imports into calibre and runs a plugin. ![]() Last edited by eschwartz; 01-22-2016 at 01:00 PM. |

I'm tripping over handy word-counts/reports everywhere I turn.

![]() You can also press "Save", and easily export the data as a CSV file. I recently used this to do a compare of the Word Count of each individual chapter before/after editing. |
