Need image for N647. This is one of the early kobo wifi releases as far as I know. Original image bricked after forced update.

Hello

I have a kobo N647 and there was an update that wiped all the books off. I think I have the same issue that all of you folks have/had. Is there still a way to fix this? (even though it a year out from the original post?)

Yes you should be able to fix it. See Memory Upgrade Mod Guide for instructions. They are for the Glo, but the basic steps and tools needed are the same. And I have sent you a PM with the link to the image you need.

Also have a bricked Kobo. Mine is an N647 (Not the N647B). Just wondering where I might get the SD image to try to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks and Cheers.

yet annother one:I need the image for kobo N289
After receiving my used(new to me) kobo wifi I connected it to the computer and loaded some books... worked great and now as im sure you can gess I reconnected it to add more books and it decided to update and now the partition that windows can see is empty and no matter what I do i get the "No books found" error. I have a kobo N289.That brings me here.

side note Is there some way to get the iso on something like github or something. I feel like we are a full time job for "davidfor"

And I don't think posting the images in a public location would be legal. The images contain Kobo's proprietary software. While it isn't useful to anyone that doesn't have a Kobo device, and the firmware update packages can be downloaded easily, it is still their software. While PMing the links is not completely different, I think morally it is OK. They are only sent on request to people stating they have the device. At this point, Kobo are choosing to ignore this. I don't expect that to change, but, if it does, then I'll have to decide what to do.
