The second half didn't quite live up to the first half, but I'm looking forward to the next in the series. Next up: My oldest unread bought ebook, Evermore by Modean Moon. This was a three book bundle from Baen Ebooks back in 2007. So far it seems to be just a supernatural romance. Readable, but not what I'm really interested in. I'll see how it goes, but I think I'll be skipping the other two unless I get hooked by the characters. |

Now reading The Untouchable by John Banville. I'm quite enjoying this one. About a quarter done.

I'm in the midst of Origins of the Specious: Myths and Misconceptions of the English Language by Patricia T. O'Conner. I am a big fan of the English language, being an amateur writer and heavy reader that I am (and considering it's the only language I know well enough to hold a conversation in...), so these kinds of books are really up my alley. At any rate, this is a nice palate cleanser before diving back into the sordid affairs of all people, places and things fictional, factual and historical (much history is mere fantasy, after all ). After this, it may be Washington's Dirigible, or The Prophecy Con, though at the moment I'm feeling in the mood of something more suspenseful... |

However, since I just looked that title up in Amazon, (and I have no idea why this showed up in the search results, but) I just found The Hittites: The Lost Empire of the Ancient World, for $0.99 which, at 59 pages can't be really that comprehensive, but still looks interesting enough and may feed into my research for a story I've been developing. I'm currently reading Warrior by Nick Webb, second book in his Legacy Fleet series. I borrowed it from Amazon via the Kindle Unlimited program. Sadly, there isn't a book 3 (yet?). Also listening to Peter and the Sword of Mercy by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. I have about 3 hours of the 11 yet to listen.

I just checked and she has a new one coming out in May (MAY???? Oh well; at least it's coming). Great news. I just finished Elizabeth George's "A Banquet of Consequences" and really liked it. First time I read her (it's a book club selection) but will definitely read more. It was a little daunting at almost 600 pages, and slow at first, but picked up steam and I read it pretty quickly. Currently reading "Let the Devil Sleep" by John Verdon. Only about 10% into this mystery, but enjoying it thus far.

I have gotten to book 11 Gilt Trip in this series and about half way finished. I am really enjoying this series. I will probably never make it down to New Orleans so this series has been a treat for me. I love most all the characters and the plot is great. I highly recommend this author and this series.

I read Washington's Dirigible by John Barnes, though I am still in the midst of Origins of the Specious; I may try The Oddfits next... one of the freebies of the month for January.

I got my PRS505 out to read the latest Tom Keller book 'Not Just Another Fae (Vegas Fae Stories Book 4)' and found myself trying to swipe the pages - it takes a little while to get used to each readers (or book) little quirks
