No, you can't do anything about it.
I assume the image wasn't generated correctly. Strange. I didn't encounter this issue.

Fedcod, I already had a similar problem with one book some times ago. The cover image used in the ebook was a gif file (usually, people use jpeg files) and Coolreader or the system could not generate properly the cover when the reader was shut off.
If this is the same issue, you just have to replace the cover image of your book with a jpeg file, for example with Calibre, to solve your problem.

Thank you both for your answers

I tried to convert gif cover to jpeg and you were right serge76_fr, now the cover is correctly displayed while reader is off.

And it is not a system problem because If I use Adobeviewer with the gif cover, it is displayed correctly so coolreader is not handling this gif correctly !

Thanks again brucelee for the port, it is now my default reader

Hi,

I can't get Cool Reader to open links - it seems that links are just ignored and seen as normal text. Touching link always opens default action set in "touch screen" options. Is there anything that can be done to get Cool Reader to handle links?

Hi,

long pressing works. I didn't know of this feature. Additionally I assigned "go to the link" option under long press and it opens up additionall menu with arrows to navigate the links, it helps when the link is short. Thanks for the advice.

I am not sure, whether my idea is right and acceptable for other users - first of all for you, dear brucelee - but Stanby function could work conditionally, only when front light actually shines.

Is it safe to upgrade the firmware to W626.5.12.492 version? Has anybody tried? Is CoolReader working fine? I don't want to make CoolReader fail due to the firmware uprade. CoolReader is the top priority since I started to use it

So far CR has survived any updates.

CR seems to forget the position in the book if I haven't read the book for a while. Also it deletes the notes made up until that point. What causes this and can this somehow be prevented?

Confirm this.

I've tested this funtionality on Pocketbook 840 v. 5.4 and v. 5.11 firmware with the last version of Cool Reader - it won't find even simplest word forms "lips" or "works" (from "work"). The proprietary reader included in the firmware finds the word forms in the same text, the same words, the same dictionary.

The main problem here: if Cool Reader missed the searched word like "lips" it shows a list with "sutable" words This list doesn't even contains word "lip", cause what we find after "lips" in a dictionary:

lipsalve
lipstick
lip-sync

etc.

Can you pls revise your dictionary query code in the Cool Reader?

Yes, that's a known problem. It's annoying me too. I often continue a book after a while.

I do not use notes, so I can't verify this point.

Perhaps it isn't a bug. But when it is a feature, then there should be a switch in the settings to disable/enable it. Or to definite a time after CR shall forget the reading positions.
