Please, anyone, it doesn't help and it actually works against you. Either I am here and see the post, or I am not and will see it the next time I am here. If I get both, I have to check if I'm sending the image out twice or have missed someone. Sure, if you don't see anything for a day or so, send a reminder. And still a post is the better way, as someone might know I am not going to be around or will send you their own link.

Hello All
I bought Kobo Glo on Aliexpress.
After the wi-fi up-dating the reader is not switching on. The PC doesn't see it.
I took the SD out of the reader and inserted into PC.
PC proposes to format the SD.
What will happen after SD formatting? Should I do that?

Please advise of right steps to do to make the reader work.

Firstly: DO NOT format the card. This holds the firmware. Formatting in Windows will mean you have a nice empty card to use in another device.

Your post doesn't really give enough information to know what is wrong. So:

- What is on the screen?
- What happens when you turn it on? Does the LED near the switch flash?
- Does anything happen when you plug it into the PC? Again, does the LED change?
- Does anything happen if you leave it plugged into the PC or a charger for a while?

In any case, at this stage you can try a factory reset:

- Plug it in and charge it for at least an hour.
- Hold the power switch in the off position for 20 seconds to ensure the device is off.
- Hold the light button down and turn it on.
- When the LED starts flashing, or the screen changes, release the light button.

If it doesn't work, try it again but wait a bit longer at each step.

If there are no physical issues with the device, the factory reset will probably fix it. If not, you can try reimaging the card. But, if there is a physical problem, you probably can't fix it unless the SD card has died.

I thought, I'm so clumsy that broke a sd card. It tells visitors in it's done! Since I could not do any backups, help me to download the original image. My ebook reader Kobo Glo HD.

And as a warning for requesters: If you post a request for an image in the thread for another device, don't be to surprised if you get the wrong image. There is a separate thread for each device type.

And the image will always have the device name in the file name. If you get the wrong one, my apologies, but just write back and I'll send the correct one.

Howdy,

my son broke the display of his Glo N613 so I ordered a new display. Even before that the reader was not entirely smooth. When I swap the broken to the new one I got it working, but it was very sluggish. Finally when I got to the update part it managed to download the package after quite a few resets. After that it went to restart than froze, and never come on since. Only the display flashing. When it's not under power, it's completely unresponsive.
So I only hope that an SD card image change would solve my problem.
Would someone send me the SD card image please! Thanx!
