That would NEVER work for me. My eyes would simply start unseeing them. That's what happens with almost every type of constant reminder I've tried, FWIW. I had something like this happen with my WEG (World Equestrian Games) tickets; downright forgot about them, because I'd bought them something like 3-4 years (oui; YEARS) in advance. {sigh}.

Why, oh, why, can't my big Maine Coon manage to climb OFF of my bed before he URPS? And how does he manage to hit my bottom sheet, my pillow, and the second pillow (all down, of course!) that is wedged between my bed and my nightstand, that I use for reading? WHY, oh WHY???

And why do I never find it before it's had time to seep into everything?

And, of course, we found it right before Mr. Hitch was climbing into bed. What a thrill. Nothing like stripping an entire bed (including the mattress pad, mind you) and remaking it in the middle of the night. {sigh}.

At least, I suppose, I found it before we went to bed. God knows, in the houses of we who are cat minions, other worse things have happened. Those of us with medium- or long-haired cats have discovered klingons in all sorts of places, just to mention one happy event.

Last month, Stella threw up in my bedroom slipper sitting next to the bed:

Pro: contained, easily disposed

Con: thick fleece plush lining ..... sigh

I think Stella has urped up on every possible surface in the house: sliding glass door track, folding divider screen (that was projectile), exercise equipment, me [whilst in bed], .... sigh ....

Yup. There is positively nothing like a large, (in the 20lb. vicinity) fuzzy cat and hairballs. The projectile hairballs...those are shock and awe hairballs, I'll tell ya.

I once had a gorgeous, incredibly smart tri-point Ragdoll. She was the world to me, but when I'd go out of town on business, (bearing in mind she wasn't alone; her cat companion and Mr. Hitch were both still in the house) she was NOT a happy camper. I came home from one trip to find poop in my best set of stilettos. POOP, I tell ya! Oish. She was normally incredibly well-behaved, never missed the box...so, I know that this was a targeted attack.

Lexie revenge urps.

She doesn't like it when I'm away and if I don't lock the catflap to my bedroom I'll have a lot of cleaning to do (luckily she always urps on the floor). Today my mother swiffered the wood of the footstool that is currently hers, and she hates the swiffer. A couple of hours later she started to urp. One thing my mother can't stand is the sound Lexie makes, not just the retching but an almost screaming sound, as if the urp is located in the tip of her tail and she needs to squeeze it out.

I once had a classmate whose cat always urped in the litterbox. She didn't need to teach the cat to do so, it figured it out on its own.

I would have cared a lot less about Peanut's "deposit" in my heels if I were the type of person who buys cheap shoes. I'm not. On a bright note, at least her deposit was firm, so I could remove the offending objects, and a few dabs cleaned them up...but, had it been otherwise, a perfectly good pair of shoes would have gone to the wastebin. <sigh>

Yes, cats revenge-poo and urp. No two doubts about it.

Be glad it was only one pair of shoes. I still do not know how Generic did it but he managed to get runny poop on all my clothes and shoes in my closet. Even the ones hanging up.
Generic was a black and white cat so named because generic food had just come out and the labels were black and white.
Note we found him a new home.

Well...a cat that can poop horizontally probably needs a new home. Did he have IBS, or was this an isolated instance? Yowza.

Peanut the Mighty, a runt Ragdoll, has gone to that great Kitty playground in the sky, I'm sorry to say. She lived to be 18, and we fought cancer the last year of her life. Her companion, a seal-point Himalayan, Mr. Bud, lived for two years past that, leaving us one month before his 20th birthday. Now we are owned by Zep (Zeppelin) the male Brown Tabby MC, and his companion, Miss Storm, (real name, Minnie Mouse) also a runt, (a mere 10 lbs), a silver tabby MC.

If they decided to horizontally-poop in my closet, we'd have serious issues. The wee lassie has IBS that has been completely controlled (praise Jesus and pass the expensive Catfood) by Blue Buffalo's Adult Indoor Health for nearly two years now. But before the BB Adult Indoor Health (no, I'm not a paid spokesperson, really), it was grim. I mean, "OH, BABY, get out the cotton balls and dip 'em in something like mentholatum, stick 'em in your nose, and try not to breathe, before you go into the hallway bath" (where the catbox lives) kind of grim. She had poo that was all runny, all the time. Not even soft-serve ice cream consistency. And the SMELL? Mother of heaven, it would make your eyes water. Literally.

This went on for nearly a year, and then--through SHEER accident--I fed her some of the BB, and VOILA!, she was CURED. I mean nice, normal poo. Normal amount of smelliness. I've become a proselytizer for that damn food, I kid thee not.

Yup. It's sad to know that the high points in my life now surround things like poop. But there you go. Age does that to you.

Cins, what happened to your clothes? I assume that the clothes could be dry-cleaned, right? But the shoes went to the great dumpster?

Isolated incident. Only place that cat ever pooped like that.
Shoes were trashed. Luckily all the clothes were machine washable. Really cool thing was a couple of weeks before one of mom's friends had given us a washer and dryer.

Oh somehow I also lost a "boyfriend" in getting the cat a new home. .
