Has anyone tried this yet? And would they honour it in relation to Kindle books. Every book I am interested in purchasing is significantly less expensive as a Kindle book, even with coupons.

I would be afraid to try it since Kobo is not well known for good CS. And you're right, even using coupons Kobo is more expensive, so I can't imagine they will keep doing the price match because it will cost them too much.

I doubt they'll honor it in relation to Kindle books. You're comparing two different products, epubs and Kindle-format books and the terms and conditions explicitly state that the ISBN numbers have to match. Kindle books, of course, don't have ISBNs; they have ASINs,

Yes, I've tried it last month against Amazon, and they honored it each time. A few time were instance, and others I had to wait a few days. The difference was given as a store credit.

How do you prove to Kobo what the price on Amazon was at the time you request the price match? If it takes Kobo a few days the price on Amazon may go up again.

It doesn't take that long, but here is what you need to do:
1. Go to the bottom of Kobo main page and click the learn more link for the Price Match Guarantee. On the next page that loads, click "Start you Request"
2. Fill in your name, email and receipt number from the Kobo purchase. Go to Amazon and copy the url link for the book on amazon, go back to kobo and paste the link you just copy from amazon into the space provided for the competitor information and also enter the price of the book from amazon and submit.

I'm taking screenshots as an extra precaution because I have had horrible issues with Kobo in the past.

I'm glad to be proved wrong, but it still makes me nervous. Since Kobo doesn't allow returns, if it turns down your request, you're stuck.
