I was having the same problem as the opening poster Aliarides - only difference is that I'm using a Kobo. In Metadata plugboards I used all the same info as in the opening post but just changed device from Nook to Kobo. No success. Then tried KoboTouch. No success. But when I tried 'any device' it worked. |

What can also help is to run in debug mode, connect the device, send a book, disconnect the device and then post the log.

If that isn't the case, I would like to see a debug so that I can work out what is going on.

Hi david Happy to post the debug log if it helps. Never done one before so am not sure what exactly to do. So far I've worked out to: - Go to calibre preferences and restart in debug mode - connect Kobo to Calibre (I'm assuming this needs to be physical via cable to pc?) - send book to Kobo - disconnect Kobo Not sure what to do next. How do I get the log? Does it come up automatically when disconnecting my Kobo? |

The log is shown when you close calibre.

Hi david The debug log didn't open when I closed calibre so I located it on my hard-drive then copied the .txt file: Spoiler:

Update: The debug log did open automatically - but only after I had already copied and posted the log above.

The log looks OK. As long as the book has a series, and is not already on the device, it should show in the library with the series information as part of the title. If the book is already on the device and processed into the library, the metadata is not reread from the book. See https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...62&postcount=2 for an explanation of what happens.

Thanks david, good to hear my log looks okay and without problems. Just realised I transferred the wrong book! The one I transferred isn't part of a series. But the good outcome is that my books are being transferred and showing up on Kobo with the 'Series name [Number] Book title'. |

Hey again. As for "antique" I have a Simple Touch, not the original. The choices are NOOK or NOOK COLOR so I picked the first one. I will try the Any Device option and see what that changes. When I am connected (device/cable/cablibre) it says Connected The Nook. Should I be doing anything with the device options I get when I click on the device drop down? (conifgure/update cached metadata) Note: some of the series I am trying to update with this series-title change were on the device formerly (pre-calibre loading), then deleted via the folder explorer, the reloaded with Calibre. Would that make any difference? My NOOK Simple Touch software is up to date. I appreciate the continued efforts to help. Last edited by Aliarides; 12-28-2015 at 05:53 PM. |

The message at the bottom of the screen usually matches the driver (Named for the first model that uses that profile). The original Nook had a slight small screen. The Color: went to 800x600. Maybe they also changed the DB structure?? You are the first I remember, having Nook plugboard issues (and the ST has been around more than a few weeks ), that does not totally eliminate a gotcha, but it seems unusual. Can you copy and paste you template FROM the plugboard. (I say copy and paste, so we see the precise entry. Typos do lurk )
