If you want to hit a dog, you will always find a stick.
You assume this, and that.. the same as I do. But your assumptions are leading and your interpretation of what I try to say is. No margin for any other input. I can defend all my arguments, you make a wordplay of it,like the comparisation between change supplier and license. Maybe you have to think about language difference and interpretation due to translation. If the manifactor of driver licences is changed,it doesn't mean in my language that all licenses are no longer valid. Wat seems to be hard is: patience. I wrote to you in private messages once, that I not always try to attack you and you replied that you maybe react a bit to strong. Think again. Try to read from a different "angle". It doesn't mean that you have to write your comments different/in another way, but do think that people who doesn't have english as their main language can interpret things different. Compassion David, seems to be the hardest word lately.. to bad in the time it is almost Christmas. It makes me afraid to write things. Do I find another bug or not ? In one of my ebooks, there is in the code <a id="Anker"> From that point, every part in the book is underlined. Is it a bug, or logic.. I don't know.. If the <a> tag is not closed, then it's just broken HTML.

That's not a bug. That's an unclosed <a>. Put in a / <a id="Anker"/> and that will fix the underline until there is another unclosed <a>.

I found that out last night when trying the new Google font Literata out that suppose to help reading. I had to convert it to TTF to get the advanced controls to work.

Hello
Thanks for your help There is a conclusion that seems obvious to me : there s a terrible tramp on any device. it is preferable to disable the "automatically update" setting, and to not launch it. but it's may be impossible to avoid. Is the firmware update avoidable? I'm not sure. It seems as if performing a syncro to recover Pocket texts - a nice feature that I use a lot - any update firmware will be done if I am not wrong. Too bad ! Avoiding firmware upgrades on any advice is the advise I would give The January 2015 Android's update of the Nexus 7's tablet (2012 and 2013) was a disaster for thousands of users. A hell to get back to the previous version. It required a root and so on. I managed to do it thanks to forums and some tools found through Internet Likewise, I wouldn't suggest any upgrade of Windows system, at least for 6 months. A "wait and see" behaviour is wiser Licences or not, I have read with that font for months. why was it on the reader for months and suddenly got out ? not normal at all. My favourite font by far, because no other one offers such a level of clarity and comfort for me.. As simple as that. Frequently "The Devil is hidden in details". In other words, one little detail can change everything. I'm wearing progressive GLASSES (corrected 27 12 2015. not "lenses") with sharp correction for 10 years. I am 54. that's why I appreciate so much this wonderful tool, which is the Kobo Aura h2o. I love it. In the end I was able to get by in the end. If someone else is looking for a solution, he can contact me by PM What I like on forums : Share experiences and help each others. it is beautiful. Thank you, and merry Christmas to everybody Last edited by gottogetout; 12-27-2015 at 01:23 PM. |

And before anyone says anything, by "real problems", I mean not able to read at all. An extra refresh in a non-supported function is not bd enough. Quote:

We don't know the license expired they could have went with a new company for many reasons we can only speculate on the why but no one knows why Gothic was really removed as Kobo has not released that info.
This happens all the time in software and apps. Fonts removed for various reasons but the beautiful thing here is Kobo lets you sideload any font so it's not a big issue and if your techy enough you can reinstall the missing fonts from a previous firmware. There are thousands and I do mean thousands of fonts out there so finding another font you like shouldn't be difficult. I'm a bit of a font junkie so I got like a dozen fonts already on mine but find myself using Kobo's Amasis. I've got like three versions of Amasis on there so as I find fonts to try I'll probably switch them out. |

But, Kobo stated in a place that I, and several other members of this forum, saw, that they were changing their "font license supplier". They didn't give a reason for this, but the main reason that a company would do something like that is that their current contract is up and they found someone "better". And not re-signing with the previous supplier will mean the license will expire. Whether it had before this release, or will in the near future, I don't know. But removal of the Gothic and Ryumin fonts IS a licensing issue. You will note I said "better". I have no idea what they consider better. The most likely thing is that the other supplier is cheaper. Or maybe the old one went out of business. Or maybe the new supplier has better fonts. Of course, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Kobo did this simply because they wanted to f*** over their customers. Did you convert it to TTF? Have you installed the patch to enable Advanced controls on user fonts?
