Sorry to bump the thread.

My previously much loved Fintie case for my H2O has had to be replaced. The very edge of the case, which previously had black moulded plastic, started peeling. The black plastic started becoming loose, and eventually peeled off. The edges looked really ragged. The inside of the front cover also looked a bit... unsavoury where my hand had been against it when I folded it back. As I have no previous evidence of being a mutant with hands that have melting properties, it isn't great from the cover. I decided to treat my device to a new case.

My H2O has had almost a year of use every day (including near constant use when I've been on holiday). I am a bit disappointed that the case couldn't keep up.

I quite fancied a Gecko: pricey, but they look lovely but the flappy thing that holds the case closed put me off. I also wanted a green Gecko and they don't do the slim for H2O in green. I went for the Coodio case from Amazon. In light blue, obviously, because the H2O can cope with water. It is slightly heavier than my previous case. It also has two types of material, leather-like and softer stuff against the reader screen, with stitches holding them together, that make up the cover itself rather than the plastic with a thin layer of fabric-like stuff against the reader on the Fintie.

I am hoping this means it can stand up to being held, a bit better.

I had a small bit at the edge of my Finte case start to peel off. I just glued it on with superglue. Now it's fine.

I just received my Coverup Hemp case from amazon UK. I was a bit worried because previous posters suggested that the sleep magnet was in the wrong place (and the section regarding the sleep/wake function was deleted from the item description), however mine works just fine - dunno if I got lucky or if they have fixed the issue. This case is probably a bit heavier than some of the other options, but I really like cloth cases just for the feel and this is the only cloth option I could find. The feel of the case is amazing, and my only gripe was the shipping time around 3 weeks, but at $20 including shipping I can't complain about price. This seems like a very heavy duty case and it has already protected my reader from a rampant dog bent on making sure she didn't miss any scraps in the kitchen.

When I had the corner of a Gecko case start to peel inside of a year, Gecko immediately replaced it free of charge, with no need to return it. Does Fintie have a similar warranty?

I have no idea Meeera They don't even ship to the UK where I am: my case came via an American eBay seller last year. It was a Christmas present with my h2o.
I suppose paying gecko's higher prices gives you the great customer service too.
Sadly when the edging peeled off it also warped. It looked like a black thin bit of liquorice and wouldn't go back to it's original shape to glue back.

I've never had my Fintie case warp or bend. I've had it since just about 7 days after I got my H2O on November 27, 2014.

That's great. I hope they have fixed it. They were supposed to send me a new case once they had the magnet issue sorted out but I have received nothing so far. Other than the magnet, I really like mine. It is starting to get a bet thread worn on the ends of the spline but not too bad considering the use it gets.

The Gecko Deluxe cover for the H2O looks to be good.

My experience with the "deluxe" cover (for Aura, not for H2O) is not good. The fit is initially tight, but loosens in a few days/weeks to the point where the reader can easily slip out of the cover if you leave it open. It may be better with the H2O since it's a larger device, or I might have been unlucky (I tried a cover and its replacement, both with similar faults). Also the edges of the spine broke off early, and the frame around the screen matches the screen size too well, so if the fit isn't perfect it will cover parts of the screen and look bad (and the Aura has a flush screen, the H2O has a recessed screen, which will look even deeper down with the cover).

I finally got it replaced with a slimfit cover, and I'm quite happy with it (except for some bits of hard plastic mysteriously breaking... probably my fault at some point).

I got a cover off of eBay for 6$ CAD. It wasn't branded or anything but I found it to work just as well as the cases Kobo sells for the H2O. Overall, if you are looking for a decent case on a budget, try looking for the generic ones on amazon and eBay. They may not be as top notch as the ones from companies but it does the job all the same.

I got this one from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B..._dh05vb76PSBR0
Very reasonably priced at £8.99, comes in a range of colours, strong magnetic clasp, sleep function works well and fits perfectly. OK, not real leather, but has a nice smooth finish (better than some "real" leather ones I have tried which have been tough as old boots) and is robust with no signs of wear and tear after 3 months of constant use.

Given how I sometimes hold the H2O one handed, I don't care for the metal strips on the edge of the case. The metal strip is a cheap way of doing the magnetic closure.
