Hmmm, oddly enough I've just checked this myself and seem to be having the same problem... Looking at the rawml, the location of charaters and aliases is spot on in the generated xray file, so not sure what's going on here. Will look into it some more when I get a chance.
PS: Just got a Voyage, so I'll be testing everything on that from now on ![]() |

I must be an idiot cause I can't get this to work even following the step by step. Every book I've tried I always get "incorrect ASIN detected"

PS: Be sure to download the correct metadata from Amazon first. I will try to make a video for this today and then post it here. |

I've been planning on doing an official video but haven't got around to it yet. If I have a chance after work I will do one tonight.
If you're doing the Fix for Kindle Fire thing and it shows the correct ASIN (under View Log when you run it), it should be in there. Are you opening the correct book file from the Calibre Library (Documents\Calibre Library by default)? Often people will open the original book from their Downloads folder or wherever, not the copy that Calibre makes. |

I built an X-Ray and set of extras for Name of the Wind (attached). It shouldn't be any different from yours since I just used the defaults. Clicking on the names seems to work on my PW1 http://i.imgur.com/0iQ2e4T.gifv, I'll get darren to test on his as well if he still has it.

It's on 5.6.1.1 or something, the latest for the PW1. Darrenmcg noticed that on his, terms were selectable if they were on their own, but not if they were immediately followed by a punctuation mark. I made a change to correct that and it seemed to work on mine at least. Do none of the names work at all, even the ones that appear completely on their own with no other characters around them, eg " Graham "?
Edit: Darrenmcg tried it on the lastest Voyage firmware and was able to highlight most things: http://i.imgur.com/4rAG4f9.jpg Last edited by Ephemerality; 12-23-2015 at 09:57 AM. |

Not sure why it's not working there. One thing we did find out tonight is that AZW3s seem to have an issue with tapping on names. Took a book that works fine in mobi format, converted to AZW3, and it no longer works.
Name of the Wind was in mobi, so that isn't the exact situation, but it might be something similar... |

Thank you! I did everything on the video and x-ray worked like a charm except one thing. The characters on shelfari.com are given with the full names but in the book, it rarely does so. And I couldn't see the x-ray info for the ones mentioned with only first names. Is there a way to solve it?

Artemis Fowl II also shows up as Artemis and Arty, so I have them listed. It doesn't get a perfect result depending on the book content, but it helps a lot. For example, in that book, there is Artemis Fowl Senior as well as Junior, so "Artemis" and "Artemis Fowl" will often match for both of them, causing some confusion. Hard to avoid when you're doing mass processing like this. If you were going to sell them (*cough* Amazon), you'd want to go through and fix things like that manually. Edit: I have also added some info on building alias files to the first post. Last edited by Ephemerality; 01-22-2016 at 12:21 AM. |

X-ray file is not recognised by android kindle app. Everything else like about book info and after reading related book info works great. but the X-ray button is greyed out. I followed the instructions provided in the first post. Can anyone help me please?
