New tool in 2.47 isn't there!
I've just updated to 2.47 and was excited about the new tool to allow easy exporting of cCalibre data. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be there. I right click on the Calibre icon as instructed but just get the usual options with no sign of the new "Export/import all calibre data"
Is there something I need to change in Preferences to make it visible? |

Are you running from source? 2.46 is the current 'normal release'. |

Thanks, I was clicking on the Calibre icon at the top left rather than the library icon. All Ok now.
I was running 2,46 but I got the upgrade message this morning. 2.47 is current version now Release: 2.47 [21 Dec, 2015] |

Nice work, Kovid! I was testing this out before the release.
Ran into some initial trouble ![]() Other than that it looks great! Link to the new FAQ: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq....ter-to-another (@BetterRed, no need for me to edit the FAQ now. ![]() |

This is a great addition to Calibre, and will solve a problem I frequently have. However, I would really appreciate one additional configuration option -- please give me the option to move all my settings, plugins, etc., but NOT export my library.
(Use case: I run on multiple different machines, many virtual, and routinely have to rebuild them. So my Calibre library sits on a shared network drive and I connect to that same library from whichever machine I'm on or just rebuilt. I don't need to export my library, but I _do_ need to export my plugins and settings!) |

Deselect all your libraries in the export dialog...

If you just want to move your settings and plugins, simply copy over your calibre config directory. Preferences->Miscellaneous->Open config directory
@eschwartz: IIRC the tool insists on exporting at least one library. Though I suppose one could just create an empty dummy library if needed. |

Nope, exporting preferences only was one of the things I checked. Seemed to be working fine...
It pops up an empty screen asking to choose the location of (0) libraries, then restarts and asks you to choose an empty folder for a new library. ... Of course, copying over or sharing the configuration folder works too, and honestly I think in this case I would recommend that -- particularly since I regard the new tool as a beginners tool to rescue people from needing to know about configuration folders and suchlike.
