kINDLE pw2 bricked "SE BLANK MERGEZ" Any suggestion is appreciated.
Hi all: Just new here, so hi everyone and if I did anything improperly plz tell me so.
My kindle pw2 was lost in some corner on my room and was only found about days ago, I think it's probably left uncharged for about a month. The screen frozen in the last page. Charged overnight with official Amazon charger, nothing happened. The amber light is on but it never greens. When linked to the PC, it says sort of name like "SE BLANK MERGEZ" or something like that. Tried press for 30 secs, nothing happened. It's out of warranty so Amazon offered me a discounted offer which I'm not interested in. I've checked online, someone said you could delete the device and re-install it as other device. But in the driver list can't find any other device other than keyboard or mice, so guess it won't gonna work. I've tried to charge it for overnight several times, but just won't work.I'm just thinking, as the amber light is on, probably the battery is not dead completely. Perhaps I should give other cable a try? Amazon official can't guarantee problem free anyway. Any suggestion is appreciated. Many thanks, Leeyue |

The PW-2 has not been around long enough for it to have worn out parts, but keep in mind: "maybe".
For certain, try another cable plus wall charger for at least over-night. Showing the last page (rather than a 'critcal battery' page) is wrong. Give us some more background please:

Ty so much for your reply. I'll try to clarify it one by one: For certain, try another cable plus wall charger for at least over-night.--Yeb, I've done it for several day and it doesn't work. Changed for other cable and charger as well, but the charger and cable worked perfectly with my Kindle fire so I don't think they got any issue. Showing the last page (rather than a 'critcal battery' page) is wrong.---The last page is just a page of book I've red. Nothing tells you anything goes wrong. Just because I've lost it in the corner of my room so I think it's a battery issue. Give us some more background please: was this the first time the battery was allowed to run-down completely?--Yes. have you installed any of our add-in packages?--Nope. Which ones.--N/A was the Wifi on while lost?--Yes. was the 3G on while lost?--It's a Wifi only model. what indications (other than the light and its color) are there when you try to re-boot it?---I can't find any. It took me several days to wait for a new battery which I purchased on ebay, but after I pried the screen and installed the new battery (oh man I hate glues) I found it DOESN'T work either. Sadly. I have only seen 1 kindle lock on the last read page. It was a kindle keyboard and it got totally soaked in very warm water.
We took it apart but couldn't revive it. |

Actually, something else happened to it before the battery ran down - - It should have first shown a "low battery" page and then later, a "critical battery" page (and the electronics would have powered down). But those things did not happen. I.E: Something was wrong back then, before the battery died. Since the WiFi was on - it may have downloaded and tried to install an update, while not having enough battery capacity to complete. Kindles have been known to self-destruct under such conditions. Facing exact same issue here - left kindle in my bag, battery drained, unable to start.
I also bought a replacement battery off eBay and it was a no go as well. leeyue, any luck on reviving your PW2? Mine is like 3 months off from warranty Apologies for bumping old thread. |
