Is it possible to run font style removal without conversion?

I'm interested in running only one aspect of conversion. Does anyone know if the
Convert/Look & Feel/Filter Style Information Tab/Fonts checkbox
is available to run through any other plugin or method? I've looked at Quality Check and Update Metadata and Polish but cannot match anything to this.

I'd like to run this without the full conversion running. Attached is a picture of the screen referenced here.

I have. It doesn't have this option. It only has embedded fonts which isn't the same as this.

You missed it.

My issue with both ways, is it is a Nuke, rather than a scalpel.

<wish> (by user rule sheet)
Display fonts: Keep (Titles, Dropcaps, special use...), or option to Replace with an alternate (OpenSource).

Base (main body) fonts : 2 stages

For when the device has the font available:
Remove just the font, Adjust the @font as needed
eg' Liberation

For when you hate the font : remove all reference and the font.
eg. Charis

BTW quite a few stylesheets have a fontfamily with a font name commented out (not licensed for inclusion). If some brilliant developer could have a 'check stylesheet for disabled font' (family) detector

Ah..you are speaking in code about code to someone who only can recognize that but not understand...
I have checked Quality Check PI again for the tenth time. All of my options minus the itunes one are checked off.
There is nothing that relates to change that does what I want as above. It was you who started me on this road awhile back mentioning font family sans serif. It is tedious to manually edit this in a lot of books. I happened upon the picture above and tried it while testing some things. Voila! I found my quick fix for books that appear primarily as Times New Roman rather than the default of the reader. Search and Replace on conversion wouldn't do this..I tried.

So, anyhow, I do not see what you appear to know about this or you might not understand my goal.

There's a lot of "Check" function in Quality PI but few "Fix" functions. What's there do not match either way. Am I wrong?

Am I to understand that "Removes the font-family CSS property" is exactly the same as "Remove embedded fonts" (in Modify PI)?
Perhaps I should ask that in reverse. Does the latter cover all of the first, or is it just a subset of the first?

I don't use that option.

I looked at the code:
I think it removes font files, the @font, but leaves the CSS styles font-family: line intact.

If your font-family is crafted robustly, it has fall backs in case your device can not supply the font. 'fancy font name', serif;
